Prem techs stop blaming the core-as far as I am concerned I wish they would put y’all in our contract
At&t bought Directv but they don’t use employees
I just had a subcontractor come to my house and replace my dish
No one is safe because the company doesn’t want to operate
Honestly don’t blame the mst, prem tech, or contractor at the end of the day it’s the unions fault for allowing it and not thinking ahead. The union is in place to prevent all this. Unfortunately cwa leadership is worthless.
They were the ones installing those below cost customers which allowed them to show growth.
Dtv came with the contractor side.
Today I saw a 20 year old Chevy pickup with 2 ladders attached with bungee cords. On the doors were stick on signs that said "Contractor for AT&T" True story, that's how far T has fallen.

Reality check from a prem tech.....This is gonna surprise some of you that like to paint a whole job title with one paint brush....I’m a prem tech that shows up every day with my mouth shut, ready to work. I do as much as overtime as I can and approach every job with as clean of work as I can. I don’t chase numbers and I could care less what my monthly metrics are....My customers love the work I do....I’ll put in my time and if I move into core one day, so be it....if I’m laid off one day, I move on....I judge every interaction with MSTs based on the individual, not the job title....some MST’s are terrible at their job and some are good at it....just like the prem techs....
The seriousness some of you take in judging other work titles is comical.....But that’s a society problem I guess, not a ATT one....
PTs are jealous of core.
The pay, the seniority, the working conditions.
And complain too much.
Imagine how you appear whining with 8 or 12 years to someone who was hired before you were born.
When I had 34 years the folks with more still called me “rookie”
