Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Consumer branch manager unethical

Anybody have any stories or times a branch manager was stealing time. When I say stealing time I mean he’s leaving work during company time to do personal business and not letting the district manager know, then stays after work to “make up the time”. Also when I let me dm know I was put on a formal the following day. Has this happened to anybody else?

Some internal Wells Fargo employees have to work long hours, over the 40 hours per week that the job description may have included (no extra pay included). When working late in the evening, on the weekends and sometimes a holiday there may be some personal business that got left unattended to, that is urgent, and needs to get done as well. Or there was not time to take off on a PTO day and still meet the target date.

I had one of those. Arrived late, took long lunches, and stayed late to watch videos, oops, I mean work late.

He’s no longer with the company.

Salary employees are responsible for their own time management, and you may well have a bad apple in your sights, you do not actually know for sure what you're talking about. You cannot.

You do not know what this person does when you are not looking, at least I hope not, and this is not the appropriate place to start a vendetta against someone you clearly have issues with.

Try HR, try your manager, don't do this on the internet. Stay classy.

Unless he physically needs to be there at every moment, or does not respond to urgent calls or whatever, what is the problem as long as he gets his work done?

How is him being a manager and not a clock puncher and making up the time "stealing". He's a manager who makes his own schedule and he makes up his time as you stated. There are other things to worry about than this, mind your own business. If you want that flexibility, become a manager and take the c-ap that comes with it like he has to, like having to deal with people like you, looking for a reason to rat him out.

then stays after work to “make up the time”. So he was "good" with the hours, not unethical, and put in the required hours. Work/live balance. No issue there.
