CWA Bargaining @ ATT Midwest has 2,579 members think this thru before you vote YES. This union complained where did AT&T use the billions in tax money at. Well lets just say as of April 2018 when this contract expired that if voted in this raise would be 20 on average employee and this Union is only wanting to get the members back pay to FEB 2019 not APRIL 2018 so do the MATH 20 a week times 4 then times that by 2579 members that is 2,063200. And there may be more members involved this this number in the 4 midwest states. So why is the UNION OK with giving the company over 2 MILLION DOLLARS of the employee/members money. DID WE NOT WORK FROM APRIL TO FEB.?

Union ran around telling all surplus in midwest that if they ratify contact that company will remove from surplus. Now if that is true there is reason probably want craft surplused under new c-appy article. Be wise don't believe union lies.

Where are you seeing that the surplus has been canceled? What I saw indicated that no one would involuntarily leave payroll. Forcing construction/i&r to a prem tech above and beyond the currently allotted 12% as well and not bumping a prem tech off payroll but just keeping them on would still meet the company / unions explanation.

If you don’t show up to vote No, they automatically count you as a yes vote. That is how it’s been done every contract.

If the company is conditioning the cancellation of the layoffs on ratification of the TA, it would seem that the company is wide open for an unfair labor practice charge, since bargaining is a protected right, and the company would be using coercion (the layoffs) to obtain a favorable vote.

Anyone not happy with this situation, particularly those who want a "no" vote to prevail could file a complaint with the NLRB, if indeed, the company is conditioning the cancellation of the layoffs on the ratification of the TA.

Section 8(a)(1) of the Act makes it an unfair labor practice for an employer "to interfere with, restrain, or coerce employees in the exercise of the rights guaranteed in Section 7" of the Act.

Sounds like at&t dragged out the D4 contract for over a year for this exact purpose. Dislike my comment all you want (I've been very critical of at&t fwiw), but pretty smart move from my biased opinion.

And let's be honest, this does zero to sway anyone to lose little bit if trust anyone has in at&t. In my personal opinion as messed up as the situation is, it gives me a little bit of hope they have a little bit of common sense left in them. Let's hope it spills over into the things that REALLY matter.

Nice try AT&T. Trust is a hard thing to come by and when it's lost, its gone forever.

Lol so D4 only bought themselves a pause in layoffs for third quarter. Brilliant. Except that At&t will lay them off in 4th quarter. Oops.

The Local has received the following update from the District.

In addition to the brief summary, which was shared with Local leaders and the membership earlier this week, another understanding between the parties has been reached and finalized regarding the Tentative Agreement and the current 3rd quarter surplus.

Upon a ratification of the TA, the Company commits to discontinue the process of the current 3rd quarter surplus; meaning no employees at-risk would leave the Company’s payroll involuntarily. Employees, who have already elected to receive SIPP will continue through with that process. Furthermore, the current VSIPP process will continue; meaning candidates who have their VSIPP election forms in are on file and will still be matched with at-risk employees through the date of ratification. This understanding was reached through continued efforts by the Bargaining Team and District 4 to preserve jobs and employment for our members. At this time, the affected number of members who would no longer be involuntarily removed from payroll is approximately 250.

Company isn't quite as stupid as we all had thought. This has been played very well, man give it up to T. I tip my hat to you.
