How long do I have to wait before I know if I’ve been bumped by a tech that has been surplused? If I get bumped can I choose to work wherever I want?

How hard is it to just get termination pay
I have been laid off twice by At&t, its an awful thing, people will start back stabbing now to keep a job, people you thought were your friend, turns out they are not, you will see nobody cares when you loose your job
I know an ST in Atlanta that has already been notified that he is on bump list.
If you are in the SE, you get to work with what’s left, not necessarily where you want. Staffing is going to screw you hard in the surplus and will no favors for anyone. Been through it several times and it’s a complete luck of the draw as to where you go.
First, vacancies and SIPP takers are filled to justify surplus. Then it's on to the 'up-front bump'. This would only be for THE MOST JUNIOR PERSON WITHIN 35 MILES. NOT ANYONE JUNIOR WITHIN 35 MILES. If there is no one junior within 35 miles or you were bumped as a result of someone's up front bump you then go to the state bump list where you will rank your options of junior employees (if any). There will quite possibly be a lot of people with the same list, it will start with the most senior and work their way down (the way it's supposed to work anyway), if you are at the bottom there may not be any choices left as the junior people to you that you selected may have all been selected by someone above you on the list at which point you become the most junior and are SOL.
If you’re in d3 you take over the surplused technicians surplus package. You’ll have surplus orientation early September and once company gets all the bumps figured out they’ll call you a few days before 9/28 and tell you what your choices are or where you’re moving to.
If you are bumped in the Southeast you will have to bump the next lowest tech in state
I work in the Southeast. A friend in Charlotte got bumped, so he bumped a tech in Gastonia, that tech bumped a tech in Greensboro. It does work like dominoes for us. Check your contract book, or ask a union rep if you can find one.
Does anyone know if someone who is bumped can bump someone else ? I don’t think so. That would be crazy imo. It’d be like dominoes lol
if you get bumped pretty sure that means bye bye
not wherever you want, is where the company will allow you to bump withing the pr-established radius a junior member
No
Great question. I don’t know. Hopefully someone here can answer as I’d like to know myself
