Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Att considering selling off regional sports

Why? Could it be to try and avoid bankruptcy? Usually, asset selling is a first when trying to stave off the inevitable and the company has been doing some selling. Maybe their in over their heads and finally realize. On July 24th the numbers will come out and we'll all find out how many more customers was lost. If this trend continues, Att has no hope and can thank the upper echelon for poor business decisions.

People get confused. They see the company getting rid of employees and think the company is going bankrupt. In reality, the company isn't worthless, they are just firing worthless employees. This time it is you, not them.

I looked and the quarterly profits are higher now. Profits and revenue.

Companies that are undergoing a transition to lower core income focus on EBITDA which is why Randal and Josh Stephen's focus on it so much. Ask yourself why the quarterly profits are lower now than before the Warner acquisition. Remember, you have to look at Warner's profits and ATT's profits separately and add them together, not play the shell game of only looking at ATT profits, like our press releases do.

Gotta get rid of those who produce no revenue, and use the money toward debt relief. I didn't even know they had these networks.

If the company declares bankruptcy you would LOSE YOUR LUMP SUM OPTION. You still get a pension however it would only be an ANNUITY monthly through The PBGC (federal corporation created under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.)

No to pay down debt as promised to shareholders. AT&T is in no danger or bankruptcy. It is making profit and has significant cash flow. What it does want to do is deleverage to protect dividends for the foreseeable future and get back to around 2.5x EBIDTA or less which it is on track to do by EOY.
