How does a premtech leave the CWA?

What is the procedure for a PT to exit this union if this contract passes? Can PTs that are not in a right to work state also leave?

What have i been paying dues all these years for to get dumped on like this?

Learn your tail from a hole in the ground. Depending on what group you are in it's definitely possible to never get a summer off in 18 years. A lot of core work centers have very little turnover. In a group near me the low man has 37 years.

I believe if you openly disparage the union to the point they will force you to resign that would most likely be the easiest way to get out of paying union dues

Quit and find another job that pays $24/hr

"In a right to work state you can send a letter to the payroll department" Not true. In the SE, we have to send a registered letter to the CWA and HR within 8 days of our contract date(Aug 8) That's the only time you can opt out. If the letter is not perfect, they will reject it. Wonder why they make it so hard to get out?

In a nutshell(see your unions constitution for specific details): In a right to work state you can send a letter to the payroll department. In a closed state you can send a letter to the union stating that you are a conscientious objector. Your dues will go a a charitable organization.

The easiest way to leave the union is become management or quit. Let me know how that works out for you !

In Cali it is a closed shop, You can leave the union but they will still collect the dues. There is a portion that you can stop, I believe around 25%. These are the dues used for politial contributions.

How many years are “all these years”?

I didn’t get a weekend off or a summer week of vacation for 18 years.

Randy and his goons wanted to break the union. But they didn't even have to do anything, by giving unequal representation to its members the CWA broke itself.
