walking into building, I held the door open for someone with a large suitcase on wheels. He told me he had to use it every day to take things back and forth because the company would not give him a permanent office and carrying everything started hurting his back. This in a building where they let go so many people that there are many open offices.
Great progress we are making. Almost sad to think that even an injury would not stop this behavior.
So thankful I can work From home when I am not Traveling for work. With all of the tools and applications we have you can work from anywhere! Why would you go in unless it was for a meeting or demanded by some old school clueless boss. I work More hours and I get more done than my coworkers who go in. You can keep your zones! I hope We move to WeWork type office spaces😬

As an example, in ATO, Marachel recently just answered this and she looked p-ss-d and just gave a generic response on how we are agile and need to speed up... lol i didnt think we were slow and less agile before??? Why was the agility not addressed then if we were lacking it?
Its been proven and proven on several surveys and studies done by a lot of reputable companies including Harvard that flexibility helps morale and productivity yet att is playing stupid games. P...i...s....s... off your most important asset which is your employees and see how far this goes. You may not see it now T but its going there.... for every employee you p...i...s...s... theres about 20 friends and relatives that are also p-ss-d and not going to buy your service, multiply that by how many employees you p-ss-d off on a daily basis.
Dig in and wait it out. They want you to quit. Maybe some will. Betting more layoffs once all the targeted real estate is sold and people start going out on benefits due to stress and unsanitary working conditions. If you are layed off at least you get severance.
95 degrees in ATL today, by the time I walked the ridiculously far distance from my car to find a spot to work I was dripping in sweat. Building temp was about 80. The guy next to smelled worse than I did. Didn’t talk to anyone all day except sit on conference calls.
This collaboration tactic is bs. I’ve moved to a building with people who have nothing to do with what I do. I will talk to them in the hallway between cubicles but there will be no work collaboration. It’s noisy. Ugly dirty unsanitary office. They are selling real estate and will get rid of people eventually. Ridiculous.
Also bring in a broom and dustpan, small and large garbage bags, a mop with bucket and pinesol, use very hot water. Roach spray, lysol, solid and aerosol air freshener to rid the area of first level smell. The grass will not have been cut, so also bring slingblade or weedwacker and leaf blower.
The spaces really are filthy and it really makes no sense that we have to do this. You aren’t even allowed to reserve space in many buildings anymore they are first come first served. Works great for me b/c I’m in early and have no issues getting a spot.......now the young workers, THAT is funny to watch starting around 930-10am when they roll in :)

We are not given any way to secure our belongings and we are not allowed to leave anything! And for those of you asking my bag contains my laptop, it’s cords, my headset, pens, paper, Kleenex, sanitizer wipes, COU, a fan and a sweater. Our office is not cooled in the summer or fully heated in the winter.

You will need to bring in soap, toilet paper, paper towels, ajax with bleach, a toilet brush, dry dusting cloths, wet floor cleaning mops, antibacterial spray and rubber gloves. The work spaces and rest rooms need cleaning and may have had dirty craft sitting there.
They make locks for your laptop, docking station and the drawers have locks. If you are in drop-in only, the ones around here have cabinets you can lock up your stuff. If we can’t work from home or have flexible work arrangements then leave your c-ap at work. Go home at 4:00 and enjoy your evening... it’s not like we made this decision

@ZNqNT5C-bjr-Point not brought up much. In my organization if you are assigned to a collaboration bldg only VP’s and above have designated office space. Not like it’s just the peons.

I regularly see commercials from A&TT promoting a service to work from anywhere. How ironic is that.
...actually my AVP uses drop-in space everyday, in Dallas no less so complaining to upper management probably won’t get you anywhere. I have a family and honestly just glad to have a job at this point, work location might not be ideal but I’m making best of it and have to admit I enjoy seeing some old colleagues. We “collaborate” over lunch on a regular basis. My advice is make best of it because a few years they’ll probably sell more buildings and force us to all work from home... lol
Besides hauling in my laptop, power cords, pens, paper, glasses, I also carry a few cleaning products because the drop in areas are germ infested & dirty.

If they would make a few SVPs use a drop-in space for a month they would start to see things differently. Drop-in is so unproductive and inconvenient
