Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Congratulations to all leaving today with VSP

For many VZ coworkers today is their last day and I just want to say Congratulations for a job well done!

There is life after VZ it may feel a little scary and unsettling right now but believe me your life is about to change for the better. LESS STRESS

Why do you care if VSP folks keep coming back to this site?

It’s July...everyone who took the VSP is gone. Why do the VSPers keep coming back to this site? When I’m gone, I’m gone! I’m not coming back to this site after retirement. Jesus..you’re retired...go enjoy life!

For all the March VSP'ers, how long until you received your payout and how bad was the taxation?

Relax. ZMGTFUr-1fd is just another bitter union troll upset non represented personnel get a buyout without having to pay 30 years of union dues. This site is crawling with them.

ZMGTFUr-1fdt you're lying is what you're doing. Any wife you have is cheating on you with someone who has a big enough appendage not to have to lie about their life on websites like this. Stay gold ponyboy

Fortunately my department had the vision to hire a person to train for my position as I VSP out of here in June. Unfortunately I had no say in the hiring process and the person I had to train listened very little to what I tried to tell them, boasted how great their talent is, speant a lot of time with their head up my managers a$$, and if anything went wrong blamed it on me leaving. If this is the company culture of VZ’s future, I am glad to be gone .

I went by to say goodbye to my team and I heard so pretty horrific stories of how things are going with Infosys. Immediately I thought thank god I am leaving this insanity. Some areas of the company will be fine, some will not. I hope the management in this company will appreciate those that stayed but I am pretty confident they won’t since they didn’t appreciate anyone while they were there. The management that actually did appreciate their teams left with the VSP. Good luck to those left behind.

I left yesterday, and cried on my way out. I will miss my buddies they are such great work friends. I need to make the effort to stay in touch. As for the job, I was always grateful it had its ups and down but the $190K per year and 5 weeks vacation with personal days was sweet. Plus I got pretty good at the job so I made it 9 to 5. BUT.... in my opinion the terrific talent that remains will not be enough to overcome Hans and Diego, plus with my lump sum going down $2K per month...the VSP made it the right time to leave. Hans is all style and no substance and its gonna be a awhile before 5G shows a profit. So when Wall Street realizes this ( and some already know) Hans will point to the unwoke employees who gave him a C+ on the survey and will start chopping. There are tons of talented folks in the Union and 1st and 2nd levels that are very attractive to the outside world. I start my new Job 7/29. Good Luck to you all.

I left in March. I.make 2000% more and work one day a week but, in my down time, I yacht with my trophy wife and honor student kids. Yet, with all this, I still feel compelled to come to this site and gloat to others not in my shoes. Why? Maybe I’m a braggart schmuck?

So I left in March, and I landed a great job in 2 months. Honestly. My stress level is down, my blood pressure is down and my family is so much better off. My new job pays just as much, pays all of our benefits and I feel like I stepped in sh--! Whata concept, I am actually appreciated! Verizon was amazing for a good 10 years but the last 13 s---ed! This was the best decision we made! I admit I was nervous with 1 kid in college and one in H.S.. I will say best decision!

Remember, you left on your own terms from a high-stress chaotic domain that frequently has regularly scheduled cullings. You've grown a leathery thick skin and gained skills that will make you a god amongst men anywhere else.

I've been out 6 months with VSP and am still dancing to Lionel Richie like a previous poster here. Yeah, I'm keeping up with what's going on here on the board... so what. I invested a lot of years into the place and want to keep up with what's happening. Its comical to talk to the coworkers who left in March and today. Nothing has changed other than the work being pushed off to those who left... today. I have felt awful for them the past 6 months but now... they are having their day. Such relief, and I have a genuine appreciation for them exiting the steaming hulk that is the company we loved to work for. Those who are left to do infographics on PowerPoint presentations as your sole existence... have fun. The real workers are either working in the field (I'm looking at you union techs) or have left the building.

Amen! Free at last. Free at last. Praise God Almighty we are FREE AT LAST!!!

Sorry for misappropriating the MLK Jr. quote, but it is what I am hearing in my head now. Thumbs up or thumbs down to this post. I just don't care one tiny bit. I am walking on air. Sweet freedom. Taking my family off to Disneyland. A real vacation for the first time in forever. No overflowing inbox to keep up with, no mobile phone to keep up with, no attending conference calls while supposedly "on vacation" because my boss is too clueless to run them without me. No more calls just to have calls, calls to prepare for calls and calls to review previous calls. No more endless political nonsense with so many people putting their heads so far up their leader's rear ends all you can see are the soles of their feet. No more mandatory social media stupidness. "Have you Tweeted about Verizon 5G this week?" No more click quotas and click slacker reports because someone came up with some new "tool" that no one wants to use. No more stupid decks so a bunch of people can convene on a Webex just to hear themselves talk in circles about the latest issue/scandal/initiative du jour until it's replaced by the next issue/scandal/initiative du jour and no one cares about the previous one anymore.

A nice payout + a nice 401K balance + a nice pension, + a nice unused vacation payout + Sweeeeeet Freeeeeedom!!!

All the best to everyone whether you have also left or are staying in. I just couldn't be happier.

Everybody sing!

Oh, what a feeling when we're dancing on the ceiling!

Last post. Over and out y'all!
