Before I left I had a few side conversations with former VPs. They said don't feel bad or envious of the ones in your group that got to stay. It won't last long. There is a current bid to outsource to Central America and Singapore to replace the entire group around the end of this year. They just can't tell them yet because they need them to support their accounts until they are ready to drop the axe.

I remember getting nothing but AI and folks from another country reading scripts that provided no info when I had to call HR with questions about being surplussed. Pretty soon drones and robots will be installing everything, troubleshooting everything, and providing the same level of customer service as a stinky shoe. Wasn't it just 5 years ago the brilliant minds upstairs realized outsourcing was a c-apfest and decided they needed to move move of these support jobs back? Randy doesn't care since he'll be out with his lump sum by the time the ramifications hit.

AI is now doing some chats for simple service requests. I would guess that is going to also affect some of those offshored jobs. Zero pay trumps low pay.
