Leave on a good note and ask your manager if you can use them as a reference.
Regardless of what we have to put up with from upper management, it has been an honor and a privilege to work with many of you.
While true that managers are not supposed to give any personal references...for anyone that maintains a good relationship with their supervisor/ manager you could probably expect they would do so anyway. I have done it many times for good people that left the company for one reason or another. I don't care what the policy is; if I can help someone out I am going to do it.
They will only verify that you worked for T, that's it. A Mgr told me they were afraid of getting sued if they gave a good reference to 1 person and a bad reference to another. Also afraid of discrimination issues.
What kind of person takes all those items and destroys company property? Oh, I know a person who belongs in prison!! I truly hope that crab your IP and prosecute you! Judgment day will take care of you!!
I know several people that were unfortunately let go in 2019. Almost every one I have spoken with found a great job, some making even more money with better work environment. If it happens to you, use your network to find that second career and it might work out better than you think. Your work history with a Fortune 500 company and job skills will help get you a fresh start.

not only will you not get a reference, but they will turn your back on you so quick and flush you down the toilet like a piece of c-ap that will never be seen or heard from again. it's just business.

I took 4 rolls of toilet paper, 4 soap dispensers, and 3 automatic lights. I stole all the power cords I could. "Spliced" the fiber. Disabled the security gates, Cut all locks.
I left 3 upperdeckers, threw my keys in the dumpster, and left with both birds held high.
Fight on D3..Not a chance D4 is settling on garbage.

I agree with this post. Unfortunately, AT&T prevents them from giving you any sort of reference as an employee. Potential employers are only able to call an employment verification number. Just wonderful, isn't it? It's truly a toxic relationship.
