I learned today that Randy is receiving pressure from BoD to resign. He had a conference call with the Board on Monday where they presented an offer to him. I would be shocked if he doesn’t take his golden parachute and leave. They are extremely concerned about the debt and his future plans for the company including plans to sunset U-verse TV and move to steaming only. They were also not happy (to put it mildly) to learn from a senior executive that AT&T and Dish had been having discreet conversations re: DirecTV satellite business.

What a whiney little girl post. Sorry Miss Thang, go get your boss off on your own time you don't belong here.
Shortly after that post RS he could be heard saying, "and that’s all I have to say about that."
Donovan would be worse, he's the hatchet man! All he cares about is his ban account!
Retirement. Period. This is a guy who can earn more in retirement than he does on the payroll. He has the whole PGA TOUR board president thing going on. Golf Groupie. He can consult. He will remain on the AT&T board and be a prop. All the years he has with the company...it’s time. Going into 2020, AT&T/ WarnerMedia needs someone who has more relevance than anyone parading around now.
As my grandfather would say "This post is absolute baloney!"
When he didn't get fired for the T-Mobile screw up, the entire board should have been removed by the shareholders. When that didn't happen, the future of the company was set.
OP is a troll. complete made up nonsense.
No idea if this is true but heard he got a lot of pressure after the T Mobile fiasco. Supposedly Whitacre had to step in. At the very least they were talking salary cuts.
And Stanky is the successer, not Donavan.
Clickbait
And include uverse tv abysmal failure. Great product delivered on junk infrastructure.
If the incompetent fool is forced out, it needs to be WITHOUT the golden parachute. Thousands of competent, hard working employees who have lost their jobs these last several years sure didn't get a golden parachute on their way out.
We could only be so lucky for him to leave that’s doubtful till he runs the company into the ground!
So what he leaves with millions in his pocket why hard working employees thru out USA IS BEING CUT WITH NOTHING TO LIVE ON. NO 3 TO 5 YR BUY OUT.JUST 33000 BEFORE TAX SIPP.
The board, including Randy were elected this April with 95+% in favor among those shares that voted. That was confirmed by a filing at the SEC site.
Vanguard and Blackrock bought sizable amounts of T stock this spring. If there is a change in leadership, I'm expecting these entities to challenge the existing board. They didn't do it this spring, so we'll have to wait until next spring. T closing today at $32.98 - both Blackrock and Vanguard are up, and receiving a sizable dividend in the meantime. I think those people are happy, since those are income funds.
Pure fiction.
Been hearing that story about rs getting so called pressure from the board.... so many times, I lost count... and yet …. he is still there. will believe it when it happens.
@qgx: if you believe the company should be a technology drive company and not a Hollywood company then yes. He would be much better.
BS. Nothing discreet about the talks to unload Direct TV to Dish. You know nothing more than me.
@yxq: the board believes an executive or someone with knowledge of high level talks between directv and dish leaked information to a UBS analyst who in turn published their own speculation of a merger needing to happen. The board questioned someone at the top who told them that yes talks were happening while they were in the dark on it. They’re p-ss-d.
If this is true would Donovan be any better?
3jf,
I don’t get this part regarding the Board : “...They were also not happy (to put it mildly) to learn from a senior executive that AT&T and Dish had been having discreet conversations re: DirecTV satellite business. ...”
