John was entertaining, but under his leadership Enterprise floundered.
@ont, sometimes a man or woman spends years cultivating a relationship, ingratiating him or her-self with one individual, with the thought that being in that club will make their life better.
Then, when they realize they backed the wrong horse, they suddenly see their efforts are not going to pay off, and their world crumbles as they abruptly find themself on the outside looking in, wishing they could turn back the clock, and now regretting the people they had crossed when the were residing within the “inner circle”.
Not saying this happened here, of course. Just thinking aloud.
