Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

No Productivity Measurement Tools

I was surplused awhile ago and devastated at the time. As it turned out, it was to my advantage. Because of the company size, work at att is very siloed. In my area at least, Att employees were very limited in their skill sets. I quickly found a better paying, more technically challenging job.

One of the best things about my new job... no productivity measurement tools. I work very hard most of the time. But if there is a slow day, it's ok. I won't have a manager getting on my case for not making numbers like I did at att.

@Z9xuuEG-cqx Go back to cleaning stalls, I’ll keep earning my $37 an hour with Ot and benefits while you wallow in rat excrement. At least you millennials have a skill besides cooking your daily fentanyl.

Do a search for "Worker Readjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN)" report in your state. Most states have them. Look at the number of companies that layoff people. They probably have no Productivity Measurement Tools (PMTs) either.

There's nothing wrong with optimizing a job by figuring out what obstructs progress. What is wrong is using it to create an environment where there's a lack of trust about an employee doing their job.

In T's case, they pretend PMTs are a benefit but whether an employee does a great job is meaningless. They simply tell leadership to cut their staffs and that's the sad story. But we want to believe otherwise.

We still have people who believe that taking MSOC tallies for a process that has no relevance in today’s world is job justification.

wow! you folks are now realizing how the real world works! good for you! you have no skills, do the same garbage every day, and too stupid to take care of yourself and go find another job. you mo--ns this att is here to take care of you, and they owe you. att owes you nothing. if you were at another employer, they would have canned you years ago. i am sure most of you are libtards, who think the government needs to take care of you as well. that is why you are in this position. sorry that att had to force you to realize how the real world works (by surplussing you). but, hey, at least you know now.

I’m very happy for you. I was a part of the 1Q2019 surplus. In my opinion, better than 40% of the employees can go off of the payroll and the company will still survive. What is a “fall out team”? What is a support team? I was one of six people doing the same activity every day. And for the number of employees at at&t who are exempt and non-exempt who are not measured and falsify time sheets is beyond belief. The good ones go, like you and me. Remember this at&t, the toes that you step on today, may be the ones you are working for tomorrow.
