I’m not sure I remember the time when someone said something positive about DTV, regardless of where tose comment occur, real life communication or internet comments on boards like this one. On the other hand, I heard quite a lot of speculation about the future of DTV under the T umbrella, and none of those speculative scenarios have a happy end. But realistically, is that all true? Is there any scenario in which DTV is going to make it have it position within the company? Is all really that dark for DTV?

DTV will still be the only viable form of reception for rural customers, off-griders and RV people.
Of course, that could all change if and when Elon Musk gets his Starlink Network up and running.
However, since Randall has decreed that only high-dollar customers are worth our while, I wonder how many of those rural, off-grid and RV customers will be found worthy of our product.
In the end, I see DTV being the Landline of this epoch - an ancient technology serving a relative smattering of 80 year old holdouts who have no other option.
It is a changing industry. Yes there will be more cord cutting. Yes there will be some that return because the price of cutting the cord keeps increasing and still has issues (not just T).
But satellite delivery still has about 15-years of life in one form or another. The reason is simple. T is only in 22 states and satellite is everywhere. 5G will take years to deploy and will not cover rural areas where DTV can get to with no additional expense. And lastly DTV is launching its last satellite in a few months and that satellite has a life expectancy of about 15 years. So as the industry changes so will DTV.
Maybe the T bag holders buy Spacex?
DTV is the past and ATT has no future. End of story.
You can HOPE that 500K + customers don’t continue to cut the DTV cord each quarter. You can HOPE that Randy eats his words about not caring about the cord cutters who jump from service to service. You can HOPE you will still be employed after Randy and the Johns continue to run T into the ground.
