Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Collaboration Zone

Any ideas as to how long this charade will go on? The sanitary and working conditions are vile. So many people have been driving to the point of not caring.

Absolute worst idea ever. But then again look at upper management....they’re so far removed from day to day reality it’s pathetic.

Ha ha ha ha... I was in a building where the contractor cleaning crew went on strike. Then when they were threatened with termination, ALL OF THEM walked off of the job and quit.

I can tell you that I lasted 22 years and notified of surplus in January. Last day end of March. Honestly I was disappointed and devastated. It was the best thing that could have happened to me. I was fortunate to get an amazing job, paid at 25% higher, and I don't have to work every waking moment. I joined another large company, but their idea is different. I have been told that my current company had the same "model" about 7 years ago. just reduce workforce and don't care who they affect.

Well this new company gave me a chance based on my skillsets and I am working 8-9 hrs a day. It's awesome, very low stress. I'm telling you this because if you have been there over 20 years, or even over 10 years, there is better life outside of AT&T. If it happens to you, you'll be fine. I know of 2 managers in ATO who have Flexible Office Worker type jobs and have to go for field visits, ride alongs etc. it doesn’t matter where they start from. Both have to go to office much further away than their previous office . It doesn’t matter. Collar zones are b.s. a ploy so you wuit

One or 2 days a week in this stinky office I wouldn’t mind, but 5 is a waste of my time & money.

Wet Wipes.

Lots and lots of Wet Wipes.

Or just tell everyone you have Measles and all of the Millennial Anti-Vaxxer Tofu Eating Techies will leave the room and you now have a private office.

Winner, winner, chic-f-let dinner!

Don't worry, after you are cut, you can still troll.

I work 480 minutes a day. Every single one of those I’m rated on how productive and efficient and how well I utilize my time. Each following morning I’m compared to all my peers on a web conference where all our crew numbers are scrutinized and if you had a bad day it’s mentioned. Driving from repair to service orders all day I don’t have a clue how nice it must have been to work from home.

The C bubble is insulated from everyone who does the work and they care only about one thing, how to maximize their bonus before the company falls apart.

So obviously AT&T is paying a troll to monitor this board all day and post insulting comments. Sad example of a human.

AT&T should just disable your badges and post a list of fired employees at the door. All this whining would then stop.

Sounds familiar, offices in bathrooms must make the Indians think of home.

The grass is 3 feet high, the bathroom hasn't been cleaned in a month. Potholes in the parking and drive areas, curbs crumbling. What the hell happen after Whitacre left?

heard that cubicles to be added in bathrooms, more productivity, not need to waste time evacuating a turd, while collaborating with out indian friends at ATO.

After years of working remote, I’m forced to work in a dirty, noisy overcrowded building. Our team is spread out across the country, we communicate via conference calls & Q. Every day I waste my time & money driving & I’m sick of it.

It's not really the fact that they are making folks go back into the office...to me, that's their prerogative. I think the whole phony baloney reasoning behind it is a joke, but that's neither here nor there. What really gets me though is the classic AT&T leadership buffoonery with different organizations leaders not talking to each other. One large org (ATO) forcing literally thousands back into the office, at a time when another large org (CRE) has for years been downsizing and selling off office space everywhere in a complete 180 degree opposite effort. This could be a classic business school case of bad management and leadership practice.

As our chairman has said repeatedly...."Working here in the future will be drastically different than it is today" He did not say it would be better.

The Entertainment Group (EG) is a disaster and our EG leadership is lost at the helm.

It’ll only get worse as AT&T continues to sell off properties.
