Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Soo funny, Randall only want rich customers. LOL

So AT&T's CEO believes reducing the number of customers they have will improve profitability. Now that is definitely thinking outside the box. Directv just got rid of me at $70 per month. There is no doubt that since I just left their profit will go up. I switched to Youtube TV at $50 per month so they can now lose money.

So they're trying to lose customers? Great business model, Of course. ATT IS LOUSY AT PRICING AND SERVICE. ITS REPUTATION IS NEGATIVE. DEEP DISCOUNT AND GREATLY IMPROVED SERVICE NEEDED BUT UNLIKELY TO HAPPEN

Uh reducing them how? Only the ones getting too good a deal gonna cancel? Not likely. This is setting Wall Street up for what’s gonna happen next. Game of thrones is over for one and a lot of people are obviously cutting legacy cable services in favor of cheaper alternatives.

The stock is going up. Way up since the beginning of the year, I’d say he knows what he’s doing.

This is nothing new. Businesses assign a value score to each customer.

Doesn’t take 3 employees to change a lightbulb but sometimes it takes 3 or more to provide service to a customer. Prem Tech kicks issue to Core, who kicks to DEG, who might kick to CO where it sits before someone finds it in a bucket after customer calls in. Then it is kicked back to the field, Tech picks it up and spends time trying to figure out what is going on. Gets frustrated and Jeps it. Jep crew has no idea of issue and kicks it back to field. Tech picks it up and finds out customer has disconnected. Things might have changed but seen this happen too many times.

uh, why would you want c-ap customers? why would you NOT strive to get a customer base, that actually pays their bills? why should att offer services to those who are not going to pay the bills. you guys are mo--ns, and part of the problem. why do you think lenders check credit scores? why don't all lenders just give money away for free? id--ts, of course we need good paying customers. now, the other part of the issue, we need to be offering good, solid services. as long as we have union employees, that is not going to happen. it takes 3 union employees to change a light bulb. all the while, they are making copays on their insurance, while everyone else in america, is hitting $5k deductibles.

Wondered the same thing when I read that line. Is Randy going to be calling people with bills under a hundred dollars per month and tell them to go to Dish?

Got news for you Randy Boy, I work in the field, I talk to customers and they talk to me - even the folks at $173 up to $300 per month are upset with DTV and looking to jump. For most, it's one more increase or if we blow our hold on NFL Sunday Ticket and they are gone like the wind.

We lost over 500, 000 DTV customers last quarter - over 6000 per day as an average.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Every Day we lost over 6000 customers.

Every Day.

And you are even thinking about intentionally cutting out 20 to 30 % of those you have left?

id--t.

I hopped off DirectTV to Hulu (yes the one AT&T sold their 10% stake in) and there’s no looking back. How’s that Randall? You lost me as a customer forever and Hulu who is now 100% controlled by Disney is kicking your A$$.

I wonder if the analysts actually bought this excuse. "Oh we're losing the customers that hop from service to service.." I know I didn't buy it one bit!
