Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Enps survey results were you truthful???? ATO org

Heard leadership knows there by level the participation results and going through everything to form action plan . I was very blunt and am very negative because of how we’re treated and the survey shows that. I don’t think it’s anonymous either. What did you say? The debacle of telling everyone there is a lay-off you and no details for a month was awful

I was a lvl 1 manager. Never knew who said what in the surveys. I could make an educated guess but had no clue if they left it cryptic. I did take it seriously though and try to change from what they asked. Some I could do. Some I couldn’t sue to policy.

@4zqe

You are incorrect. There is no nefarious scheme to determine exactly who made negative comments and then punish them accordingly. You were probably removed from your projects because you are miserable and incompetent.

My favorite part of the survey, next to being brutally honest about why I wouldn’t recommend someone to work for a company that’s sending all of its work to the Philippines and won’t have a job long and why I wouldn’t recommend these services for friends and family to have to go through countless hours of trying to talk to some outsourced id--t about their screwed up bill...is the bs email they send before we start the survey.. “We heard you!! After the last survey, we added a massage chair!!” Blah blah effing blah..Stephenson can take every one of these bs “perks” and cram them!!

Don't be a shill....of course the enps isn't anonymous,. That little black box on your desk? It has an address. Your manager knows exactly who said what. Figured it out myself when attitudes changed after stating my manager acted like a new-boot, and hopefully would get it together. After that, I was removed from all group projects and treated like a poorly behaved stepchild of a stepchild...

The eNPS survey is a good thing in my humble opinion. Nearly every competitor of AT&T has the same. An anonymous survey is really the only way to get unfiltered feedback from employees. That being said, the survey for Q2 2019 asks some of the same lame brain questions as it usually does about whether you would recommend AT&T as a place to work and how likely you are to “recommend AT&T products & Sevices. If you are a current employee and cannot answer a 9-10 on either/both of these, you are just plain stupid. AT&T pays well and the benefits are at least as good as any competitor (State/Fed Govt aside). Again, that being said, the pressure and fast paced nature of many jobs at AT&T really puts some folks in a downtrodden cycle that is hard to break. The pressure and unrealistic objectives in some departments is almost ridiculous to say the least. TG for lots of PTO allotment as it’s needed just to decompress most of the time

The eNPS paranoia thing is getting old. They are not going to can you for giving honest/ negative feedback on it. I've been here 25 years, many as an L2 with 20-30 folks under me. I have read many brutal ones. Was never asked to ID individuals that I thought made particularly scathing contents. NOT ONE TIME. Is it truly anonymous? Probably not. I bet I could guess with a high degree of accuracy who made what comments. ..though I didn't really have to, as most often they would just tell me (without me asking). So in that sense not anonymous. But I never saw any reporting tying a UID to a survey. Yes, you have to use your global log in...but that is only to authenticate you as an employee. The only time I think they would make an effort to tie a UID to a specific survey is if someone threatened violence or something like that. As they should in that case. But that is a situation I never saw, thankfully.

The person below me is correct. Nothing will come out of giving bad surveys. Several surveys ago the majority of our site gave 0 with negative comments towards management. And guess what change.. NOTHING... The surveys are the comic sections for the executives to read on a slow day.

I was honest on my survey. I do not believe anything will come of it as the company is a slow moving ship with little agility to react in any positive manner. The disconnect between upper leadership and middle management is great; each have differing agendas. I will belong gone before the iceberg hits.

Honesty has value to leadership with regard to information gathering but it's not a value that will increase your longevity

I was brutally honest and didn't pull any punches. Nor did I try to hide my identity. If you don't like what I have to say about your shi##y management, that's just too bad corporate scum.

Nothing is anonymous. I called in an anonymous report to COBC and the next day I received an email chain that went from asset protection to my AVP to my Director to my Manager to me asking why I did not report their shady behavior to our team first. Waiting for the next round of job cuts...

And the good work is?

Laying people off?

Destroying the business for short term profit?

Lying to congress and the american people?

Providing a safe haven for management s--- ups?

Of course I was honest. If anyone is not honest on these surveys, just to protect their job, they're part of the problem.

I hope the surveys aren't anonymous. I'm willing to stand by and stand up to everything I said. If you're not, you're not only a coward but a fake.

ENPS is an exercise in futility. The company has massive debt and poor leadership. Aside from being first to market with the iphone, we've had a string of failures over the last decade. The Titanic is sinking. Asking the passengers what song the band should play won't be of much use.

Oh those ENPS results really are going to help the Legacy DTV employees, , AT&T was only interested in taking DirecTV, gutting it and then they will probably sell the ashes of what is left after having bankrupted it

If AT&T were to target those who wrote negative and truthful ENPs responses, they would be laying off 90% of the company.

This may sound surprising to you, but looking at the deals AT&T had close may look like this short children story book

the scene began with just one sheep jumping off the cliff to die (DirecTV Acquisition). The shepherds (CEO and Board of Directors) had left around 275,500 sheep to graze and they relaxed while having their breakfasts. In a few moments, they saw all the 275,500 sheep following the first one and jumping off the same cliff. So the management team decided to confused the sheep by acquiring Time Warner inc. This led to the death of 27000 sheep in 3 quarters altogether.

Wondering how the others survived? the others, who jumped after the 450 sheep, did not die as the fall had cushioned after the death of the earlier ones (CWA), Since there were a lot of dead bodies already, the rest of the sheep survived by falling on the wool (wall street) or the soft pile (ATT STOCK) of the other dead sheep.(employees).

Welcome to the AT&T family of layoffs, LOL

I lied through my teeth. I know this is another thing used against us. I had a manager a few years ago who was brutually HONEST with the Enps. She was one of the first to be targeted for a layoff. It’s not a coincidence
