They make the schedule inconvenient for long timers on purpose

I generally don’t talk a lot about scheduling. Whenever some changes in scheduling arrives, chances are that more or less people are not going to like them. That’s a process that I’ve been seeing each other for years and every time it eventually all calms down and the schedule continues to be followed. However, this time it’s different, in the sense that the sole purpose of the changes was to make life and the job as inconvenient as possible for the people that worked at Sam's for a long time (read: the ones with higher pay). This is proving to be nothing more that a purposely designed scam, with the goal to make the long timers leave on their own and I think we shouldn’t be quiet about this as we always were in the past.

For the long term associates that stay because they think they can't find something else making what they make at Sam's I am here to tell you to put in some applications and see what else is out there. You don't have to take anything if you don't find the right thing but I was at Sam's for 25 years and started a new job making $1.00 less then I was at Sam's. After 3 months I got my first raise and will get another one at 1 year and will be making more then I was at Sam's. I have health insurance that actually pays everything but $20 if I go to the doctor. I'm mad at myself for waiting so long to leave

It is terrible how they just don't care.. it is all about money. I hope i can make it for 2 0r 3 more years then i am out of here. I feel sorry for the other associates there is still more to come.. i am still looking for another job but i won't give them the satisfaction until then. Good luck everyone.

I was on night crew and our life was turned upside down when we were forced to go to days. I worked nights for a reason I had family responsibilities and working nights I was able to fulfill both family and work responsibilities but the fabulous company ended that. For all you smart asses out there who have no problem jumping from job to job its not real easy to go find another job out there making what you make if you are a long term employee. At one time they took care of us and rewarded the good ones with merit raises and yep I got my share of them. The company actually wanted to retain good hard working associates who cared and today they despise us. Today they treat the best associates the same as the ones who s--- and there's a bunch of them but the company thinks everyone is equal and that my friend is a joke. I can count on 2 hands how many days I have called in for the last 25 years and most of these so called workers today have surpassed that in there first 3 months. The company is ran by a dictatorship approach now and uses intimidation tactics and loves to threaten jobs. For everyone who bashes management I really don't think you have a clue what they have to endure and why any of them would want to be a manager at this place I do not know. I see more and more very young people being promoted to CM and above all because they knew how to say Yes, Yes. Yes and never questioned one thing. Im trying to ride this thing out for another 6 years so I can have a little something when I retire.

I think the new scheduling is inconvenient for most fulltime associates. I'm a meat cutter and a long term associate and I will be opening everyday along with a another long term associate, and we both will work every weekend (not happy about that!) But i could be one of the other 2 meat cutters that have to close every night and also will work every weekend. So I'd day i got the better end of the deal.
