Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Monday is my last day!

After having exhausted my vacation time for the year, I’ll be leaving AT&T and starting life with a new company in a growing industry. I can’t tell you how good it feels to have this weight lifted off of my shoulders. AT&T has become too toxic, to obsessed with things that don’t matter. I needed to work for a company with a vision and somewhere I felt I was actually able to contribute and not micromanaged. If you’re on the fence about leaving, start looking now.

I see things a couple of ways:

1.) if you have skills, then wait, hangout, make T pay you to leave

2.) if you don't have skills, and you can't get into a position to gain skill, then try to find another opportunity, externally, where you can get educated, and marketable.

The negative posters are probably CWA goons who take 3 days of 'Union Activity" time every week. Anyone who can leave for a better opportunity Go for it

Yes the two loser posts below who scoff at the OP’s success are surely the company troll or trolls who battle for their masters daily on these boards. Everybody’s got a Luca Brasi nowadays I guess.

That is awesome OP. You won't regret it one bit. I did the same thing and I am loving being with a company who knows who they are and has direction and a plan and executes that plan. I don't regret waiting around for the 6 month blood money at all.

I know you will love it and you will rock!

Congrats, OP! As for awj’s comment, Adobe is 22nd best place to work according to Forbes (http://fortune.com/best-companies/adobe/) our of 100 companies. Guess where AT&T ranks. “No results found”.

Congrats. I’m happy for anyone who gets out and lands safely elsewhere. Others are right. At At&t it’s not what you know but who you blow.

@awj: Product Manager starting at $125k/yr with a $15k signing bonus with ability to travel internationally. I’m just disappointed I didn’t get to take advantage of the 6 months pay and get laid off!
