Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

IOT Relocations

I heard via the T rumor mill that IOT is the next group to get told to relocate to Dallas or else. Anyone else hear this?

I can’t even with this page. No one said anything about surplus, this thread was about forced relocation in 1 business unit. The facts are, IoT just announced a new director in Atlanta like a week ago. If the Dallas rumors were true, those jobs wouldn’t be filled in ATL. AT&T overall sure has a lot of surpluses going on, people are p-ss-d off or scared or whatever but that has nothing to do with this question.

@YyclOC2-mzg - you must be one of those people who think anybody who gets on a surplus list deserves because they are a non-performer. I know some really good people who got the surplus letter and they were level 2 and were great performers. just because you think your boss has your back and you are a good performer doesn't mean you are safe from surplus. But this kind of attitude is disgusting because people like who think they are so great because they aren't a surplus list. But don't worry you will be one day.

You clearly missed the point of the comment in which you replied. Original poster noted rumors of IoT mass moves to Dallas. Commenter advised that 85% of IoT are level 2s with several current openings in Atlanta so there’s nothing to worry about - and presumably as a level 2, the individual poster should be smarter. Your babble about quality of level 2 work backs up the point of the commenter that level 2s should be held to a higher standard and offered nothing regarding the topic of moves to Dallas. Do you even know anyone in IoT? You sound disgruntled but your lack of reading comprehension also tells me you’re not very smart. To be clear, I’m not implying education - I’m saying your reading comprehension needs improvement.

" you’re likely a level 2 individual contributor " lol - ooooooh level two contributor. I have seen and cleaned up some of their work. Right there is the whole problem with T. That kind of fricken attitude. Doesn't matter what you know or how hard you work but if you can come along and talk out of you know and make big piles of poo for others to clean up you are a level 2 contributor. Doesn't matter if it costs the company money or if it works. I wish I was a genius and a safe level two contributor.

There are 2 director openings in IoT right now that are posted in Atlanta. I get the concern but I think there’s a lot of unfounded mass hysteria on this whole “move to Dallas” thing. Not at all defending AT&T either but if you’re in IoT you’re likely a level 2 individual contributor and a lot better off than a lot of the other folks posting here. Be smarter.
