Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Are we going to be last on the media market?

Seems that, while AT&T is “too busy” making layoffs and reorgs in the media segment the competitors are not wasting their time. Read about -mobile launching the new TVision service and I don't have to point out what portions of the market other competitors are getting. Are we a dinosaur company to that degree to arrive the last on the market, in which we claimed we were going to be pioneers and leaders?

Telecom has been commoditized. Ergo, buying Time Warner. Money is in the content.

AT&T might be late to the party, but they're not missing a thing.

The 2020 vision is alive and well. You don't even understand the stuff you work on, yet you're here p0oping on it.

"All IP by 2020"---- The network has probably been 80-90% IP based for 5+ years. Only thing left to do is pull the plug on POTS and fire up the new 5G radios.

Maybe now is a little too late to start paying attention, but it'll probably help with your next job in 6 months.

AT&T will never be able to compete, they have been playing catch-up ever since they decided not to lay out fiber to the home years ago. Their 5G plans are not going to pan out either just think back on how they announced it years ago with their 2020 vision and try to remember the last time a modern internet age company did the same thing, predict their own future, that’s how you know how out of touch with the realities of the speed of innovation Randall is. 5G is already old news or not even blip on people’s minds.
