Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

So much truth in this

Turnover in wireless is horrible, 45 percent is pretty close, in my store we have 2 people that have been here over a year, most new hires bail once ramp up ends, quotas are to high, they are told they will be making x amount of money, they end up making half what they were told they would make and God forbid you have a family or a life outside of this place, there is ZERO work life balance . The newbs catch on pretty quick. Most stores are short staffed in our district and nobody's beating down the doors applying to all the open positions we have.

Brought over from Verizon forum, OP is @YsTX45c-3uer.

I have been here 12 yrs, I do sell, I sell twice as much as I used to, I also make almost half of what I did in the past, I'm doing the job of all the people the company has fired, the tech, the greeter, the csr, the inventory specialist and I have to be a business specialist, all the while trying to hit these over inflated KPI's, and sky high quotas. So don't tell me to shut up and sell, I am selling, far more than I have in the past, but I'm also doing the jobs of 5 other people, and making less every year I work here!

The average sales rep makes over $50k/year ....that's over the median income for most middle class. Most reps don't even have a degree. It's a sales job ..so stop your whining and SELL!

Wireless is significantly more that a bunch for (what should be) minimum wage jobs selling phones. They should change this to the VZW Retail Store Layoff board...that's all it's become.

Use your $8k/year and improve your life...go get a job that would be worth complaining about if you lost it.

On what planet is a retail job desirable? Retail is a $hit job, not a career.
