Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Attrition

There has been an unusually high rate of people leaving on their own at my location. I also know a couple of folks that are actively looking for new jobs. Is that a coincidental specific for my location or is attrition occurring at other locations as well?

Very little attrition in wireline. How about taking this to the wireless site?

Turnover in wireless is horrible, 45 percent is pretty close, in my store we have 2 people that have been here over a year, most new hires bail once ramp up ends, quotas are to high, they are told they will be making x amount of money, they end up making half what they were told they would make and God forbid you have a family or a life outside of this place, there is ZERO work life balance . The newbs catch on pretty quick. Most stores are short staffed in our district and nobody's beating down the doors applying to all the open positions we have.

The comment about 45% turnover is ridiculous. Wherever you get your information (probably from your other personality) you'd want to verify your outrageous statement.

Wirless retail averages about 45% turn over a year

I quit about a year ago, but when I was still working there we usually had a sales rep quit every week (in a retail store). They compensated by constantly hiring new people and hardly training them.

In 20 years I've seen less than three people leave. Why would they, we are overpaid for the actual work we do

The walls are crumbling, and those that are wise have either left with the VSP or are waiting for an EISP. Reality is setting in. Wireline is in a death spiral and Wireless is being led off the cliff like a bunch of lemmings by the tofu eating millenials that are being promoted to fill in the gaps for those were smart enough to get off the steaming hulk that was once a great company. Go. Now.

I’m in wireline also..NJ...no one has retired out of our garage since the last eisp was offered in 2016. I haven’t even heard of anyone leaving from other garages either.

I’m in wireline. The last time anyone retired from my department was in 2014 with an EISP package.
