Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Ethics

So tired of working for an unethical company. The preaching of ethics is a 180 from what they actually do. Why has this not been picked up by the media? Why isn't this company being inspected by the FCC? How the hell do they get by with this stuff? This is a general statement. This is an unethical company. They lie. They steal. They misrepresent. How do they get away with it?

Hopefully all those prem techs that pull the unethical sign here, sign here tactic to get the protection plan or upsell sale get caught and legally punished, along with the managers that force them to perform any unethical method to get there numbers to receive a healthy bonus and retain there job. Karma is a b!tch, hopefully your saving that bonus money for a good lawyer, cause they're going to need it.

I don't think companies have a corner on greed. Workers are greedy to, they just don't have control over the purse strings. If worker unions were powerful, they would just want their wages and benefits increased too. They wouldn't care about the company making profits to be competitive and stay in business. It all becomes ridiculous anyway, as if AT&T isn't paying you enough to provide for food and shelter for your families. If anything, the beef would be over retirement benefits more than wage tables. It's not the wages, it's the number of jobs available because of outsourcing. That's not really AT&T's fault in particular, that's the basic international commerce system setup by the government. For that you can blame yourself. As long as you have your job still and your 401k is increasing you don't really want to rock the boat. Now 25 years later, you hem and haw about your job security in a decreasing job environment.

Unfortunately, all American companies are this way now. No ethics, just greed. They could care less if we can feed, cloth and provide shelter for our families. They just look down at us from their big mansions on the hill.

Hello "Ethics" author and up voters,

Have you ever heard of the term Psychological Projection?

Oh, the sweet irony! You are so ethical yet work for an unethical company. Why doth not the media do something? Are they too unethical? Why doth not the FCC do something? Are they too unethical? If only there be an ethical person working there, maybe they could do something! Alas, there doth only seem to be but one ethical person left. I can but only imagine the weight that must be upon those shoulders!

The COBC is just the company giving lip service to their attorneys and covering their own butt. It’s also a nice way to fire a tech. They make it impossible for their techs to be 100 percent truthful on their timesheets. They could literally fire every single tech under “falsification” of timesheet just because of the ridiculous pressure they put on techs to hide unproductive time. All because every manager above him wants their bonus, which is based on the crew’s productivity. If the tech doesn’t play the game of the week with his numbers , they place a target on his back and b form him until he can be fired. If someone catches it, it’s the tech’s fault. Again fired. Tech’s can’t be techs anymore. They’re too busy constantly looking over their shoulders and living in fear.

Oh, quit the virtue signalling and look for another job if the company falls below your standards. You are aware that other opportunities exist your city and the country, correct?
