Nothing happened today related to cuts in jvb
We do have a call on 5/2 and no idea as to the topic.
Under ATO (Lab), Had a VP call last week, He said he is not aware of any layoff so far.
4/28 makes no sense 4/28 is a Sunday. The calls have been on Mondays 4/22 is a Monday
In ATO we heard the 22nd but now the latest is notification is being pushed out to 4/28 and lots of meetings taking place the past couple of weeks at Director and above levels........
They have alot of house cleaning to do from the Director level and up in ATO. AND the GET org.
@1pbr, we here ya, just a little touch of irony goes a long, long way!
I doubt that someone at the director level has very much insight as to how much the next surplus will affect organizations outside of his own. The April surplus could be minor for some groups, but a bloodbath for others.
@3qlh, some years ago I was working in Philadelphia (driving to work) when a radio Shock Jock blurted out, “and a reminder to all those employers out there, remember to hire the handicapped....there so much fun to watch!”
No need to say anything, even then, in my youth, I was aware how cruel a statement that was......but when I saw your post that quote came back to me.....the only difference is that the DJ was immediately fired and you.....well, you actually got hired by AT&T.....”LIKE” you know what I mean?
There may be a smaller cut in April but my Director indicated the big cut is coming in late July. There is a new initiative to move almost all of the IT infrastructure work to external cloud providers starting with some pilot applications this year and ramping through 2021.
@3qlh......stay off the board, Troll.
3QIH, the world can only hope that you never rise to a position of making hiring decisions with your obvious prejudice!
this is awesome. it is like totally the right time to get rid of all the worthless like old people over 40. I mean like they make twice as much and like don't really do anything. I mean like really. I like totally work 45 hours a week and should make like double.
Dude, most locales spring break was either last week or this week.....try again to deflect
Although Easter isn’t a holiday, MANY employees (especially those with kids) take off a week or two because of school closures for spring break around the sMe time. Meetings are often cancelled around school holidays.
Does anyone know if the criteria used will be as the rumors state - WFH, not in a collaboration zone, too much VPN or has all of that nonsense died down? I see less and less people coming into the office lately, thinking maybe that ship sailed already. ATO under Summers here also but no word on anything.
I am a level 2 ATO manager as well, and although there is nothing concrete ( and why would there be, or it would have been announced..), as the 8 ball says “all signs point to yes”.
I fully expect to hear a surplus announced on/by the 22nd. I am also giving myself 60% chance of getting hit, as most of my team was laid off with the Jan round.
And Easter isn’t a holiday around here, so not sure why a comment below thinks meetings would be canceled due to that.
I am in Tech Dev under Summers and I have not heard anything; however, this doesn't mean it's not going to happen.
Appreciate a few managers confirmed they did not heard anything yet.
Funny I thought the calls were cancelled due to the Easter Holiday....like every other Monday HQ call after a weekend holiday.
It’s done quarterly to get the numbers needed, while staying under the trigger for government reporting. But mgt will tell us to work real hard and add value we will get to keep more jobs. The numbers are set for the year.
I' m ATO management under VP Walters, have not heard anything, cannot confirm this yet.
Yes. That is confirmed. All calls from HQ RAN are cancelled for the day. 6060
Is this for management or could it be technicians also?
eNPS is coming up too (received confirmation today) to be completed between 4/16 to 4/30. Hope I am around long enough to hear the feedback from that read aloud.
ATO = ATT Technology and Operations under McElfresh
I’m not even familiar with ATO. what is it.
RAN Org under Marachel Knight will be affected.
It would be nice if there was a voluntary offer so some employees who want to stay could be saved. It would help morale, too. I’m hearing no more VMO though.
No one seems to care that little gets done when you keep mixing up all the puzzle pieces. Take cover and good luck to all
So sick of all this, even if the OP is trolling - it is still what everyone thinks.
One of the many things I won't miss. We may or may not wreck your life in 2 weeks with a dreaded call. Continue to work hard and make the company money until then.
