Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The ENPS & state of CWA/Premise Techs in San Diego

We are one year away from contract expiration. We the Premise Techs in San Diego have willfully sparked the most strikes in the last 3 contracts and our status still remains as one of a contractor.

CWA bargaining has become a giveaway. This is exacerbated by the good for nothing local president that we have running 9509.

AT&T is doing ENPS surveys right now. Since CWA cant get us anything through bargaining, this trash president is mass texting the local members what they should write on the survey. He is attempting to better our working conditions by way of manipulating a survey, instead of real representation during bargaining. This is how sad our local president is, no power.

Here in San Diego, we will no longer lead the charge for the local. We were conditioned by the local president to think that fighting will get us contract language that we are missing. When in fact, our sacrifices were to our detriment.

Anything similar happening in other locals?

Hopefully the Unions won't band together for strength and just give up ...like they have for the last 12 years. Time to start voting out the old uneducated leaders.

aren't the techs out west behind in contracts because you keep trying to keep work separate between MST and prem tech ?? don't you guys get it doesn't make sense for the company, or the customer ? what exactly are you trying to hold out for ? if other districts are already doing it it is really pointless to do this to yourselves.

Although I am in MST, i am in agreement with your statement. For the most part, everyone one has lost, but the prem techs are not at the brink of losing their jobs because most local presidents are worthless.

This emps survey strategy that you speak of, is trash. your president should be ousted.

"Who cares?? Just more union complaining non-sense as usual."

Bye, sooner or later, probably sooner, you will be gone. You know this to be a fact. You have a lot of bills and you are terrified for your future, I get it.

It does no good to trash the folks that do the work that allows customers to keep sending AT&T money that pays all of ours salary.

Truth!!! Thank your for posting this. I am a prem tech in orange county and most of us feel the same way. They asked us to risk our jobs by wearing a sticker to provoke a strike a few years back and now, our conditions have worsened. Now we are only talking about layoffs.

The president here is no good, and have been no good since i started. No participation with EMPS here.

I don't know if it has as much to do with the union representation or the changes in the business but every contract gets worse in our Midwest region. It's frustrating, we've been without a contract for a year. The company doesn't want us core/wireline employees anymore and they don't want to train us for the jobs of the future because they don't want to pay what we make. They want to pay a fraction of what we make to people who will unfortunately do the work for less, with less and with less quality.

The union is all about self perpetuation. They want you to make more $$$ because the dues go up as well. I was a steward, union for 39 years. They treat the members no better than T does employees. Email the district pres, and bet your local pres will get an email to "control your members"...but you'll hear nothing from them.

It ain't what it was.
