I got the dreaded notification in January. I was always rated high and tops in my work group. I truly believe they are after tenured bell-heads. Within a couple of weeks I was contacted about a new job, same salary, company vehicle. perks that I never had at AT&T. I left the company on my terms, it was a great feeling. The days of worrying everyday about keeping my job are now gone, Best of all, I am treated with respect and valued as an employee. There is life after AT&T!

I agree there is life after AT&T. I was let go 3/29 and hired 4/5 by my new employer. Total compensation is the same as they sweetened their offer to ensure they could land me. I am beyond enthusiastic to get away from the plague that is AT&T.

"Best of all, I am treated with respect and valued as an employee." Yep I left on my own terms too and I have to say that is the best thing about leaving. I actually get to make technology decisions and people actually listen. T was a cesspool that takes a lot of work to get all the goo off of you. Good luck to you and glad you got a better position.
