Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

They will probably offer a buyout at first and the smart ones will take it

What type of employees will Warner Media want to get rid off?

Answer: As many as possible as fast as they can while keeping it under the radar and out of the spot light.....They will probably offer a buyout at first and the smart ones will take it.....After the buyout all bets are off. Then they will just start clubbing folks over the head every few months, cut salary increases and make it so miserable some will even leave on their own volition. Others with time in will hang on to the side of the Titanic as long as they can and pray it stays afloat...…..Fasten your seatbelts it's gonna be a bumpy ride....Over at the Big T we are all still riding the roller coaster.....

They should offer it to those who have a long length of service. like 15 years or more. :) I'll take it!

It will be interesting to see what bs excuse they will use...collaboration/goe zone was very creativly used for our layoff in December (global ordering) but on March 22nd layoff, folks in Atlanta and New Jersey were hit. Hats off to AT&T legal, they are really good at the layoff game.

Buyouts ( assuming they even bother ) get tricky.

I can't speak for TW / WM but a rather large portion of the telecom side of the business are at or beyond retirement age / service requirements.

If they offered a buyout, they would have to really put some limits on who they offered it to or they would lose a massive number of folks in a hurry.

Since it is offered to folks 55 and over, it is pretty clear OLD is a target. Final answer.
