So the company’s newest money making scheme is up selling customers a piece of equipment that should already be standard.
A WiFi router has enough range to cover about the size of a 2000 square foot home. AT&T is now doing a heavy push to “extend “ the WiFi coverage.
So now AT&T is basically telling customers “we charged you for a service that doesn’t work unless you buy another piece of equipment.”
Forget the fact that they are testing the WiFi signal with the optional piece of equipment you have to buy. They have also manipulated the threshold for the testing in order to show it as failing unless the customer purchases the additional equipment.
For years AT&T sold WiFi without the AIrTie but now we can’t seem to make it work without them. This is a money making scam. No matter the size of the house they will tell a customer they need the additional equipment.
