I made it 37 years, retired at 55.

By following my "take care of number one" motto.

Did a great job,

Flew low, made few friends-work is not a social event.

Smiled and waved and treated customers nice.

Cashed the checks, worked all the OT I could.

Do as you wish...collaborate, don't VPN, get some Nano degrees, work on your own time, get some 6sigma or whatever they do now belts.

Kiss butt....but ....

At the end of the day, none of that will matter.

You are listed not in the asset column, but the liability column.

The harsh reality is you need to be better at the game than they are.

Use their rules in your favor.

They don't care. Reciprocate.

Seems your "team" failed you. Perhaps your team will "collaborate" some of their pay to you.

FMP = force management plan. It was the old term for layoffs. Now the euphemism is surplus.

Employees are nothing more than a monthly cost to them and they are always looking to reduce that cost.

Nobody fights for people anymore. Everyone sits back in fear that thy might be next on the ‘list’ that apparently never goes away. Moral is so low and it is impacting work supposed to be getting done. Um, if sr leadership really cares, figure out another way to reduce costs. How about your large bonuses and perks they get. Car allowances, drivers, wardrobe allowances.....really?

What goes around comes around! You have integrity they have a drowning company. Sounds like you are ready to retire. If so, relax and enjoy life and never look back. I am gone 3-months retired early and after a 40 year marriage I am divorced and loving life. I feel like I have another chance for true happiness in my whole life. Good luck 👍
