70k working in a call center ? This is why they are moving this position overseas. You need to get some updated education/skills as you will likely not find a job with same pay if they cut you loose. Good luck.

A 40 something year old wire line person will do just fine . You should have 20 some odd years in. Ride it till the end. Have them pay for a degree or get an additional one over the next 4 years. You will do fine. The company owes all us members a great deal of money and their bill grows daily. I am eligible to leave now but want them to fill my loot bag to the maximum as I have no intention of working on anything other than hobbies after my tenure here. There is no reason to let them off easy, get a degree, max the K plan and work OT. Anyone member can get out as a millionaire.

Step 1. Learn to use proper grammar.

Step 2. Ride it til August 2023 like the rest of us are. Grow your own vegetables. Pay off all outstanding loans highest APR's first.

Step 3. Cut all unnecessary expenses (bye cable, credit cards, expensive loans, eating out, Netflix, you name it).

Step 4. Retire in a state like Mississippi. Cheap living and low taxes.

If you’re on the wire line side which sounds like you are I would get out now. Easier to find a job now than 50. Wire line is on life support.

While you are working, get your degree from college or go to a trade school, Go to a new industry, get out of telecom. Ageism is a fact and will affect you in your mid-40's. I know of too many of the recent people let go or vsp, with BS's or MBA's still have not found work yet. Please have a plan B. Best of luck to you.
