Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T targeting managers with approx 20 years of service

If you have not noticed the similarities in this first round of management surplus, they appear to be targeting those who are getting close to the MR75. They are also targeting their least favorite field managers. Your actual productivity does not seem to matter. It is now just a popularity contest with poor managers with 30+ years experience (they already have their full pension at that point) and s--- ups with serious issues (COBC, EEO, Attendance) being saved (for now). If that is how this shady company thinks it is going to transform, they are delusional. Take the $$$ and get out now while the gettin' is good. More layoffs are on the horizon and severance packages may not be offered going forward! Once you are surplussed, you are basically screwed, good luck trying to find another job within the company........and why would you? There are plenty of opportunities elsewhere!

I can get the boobs installed but with this do I need to re-assign myself as a transtestical or transgender ? Or is it considered how I envision myself ? I can get the boobs, that much I am down for. After all, I feel like a le---an trapped inside a mans body. I like the ladies. Gigiddy.

I have seen top performing sales directors laid off just because they were over 50 years of age. The drop in sales productivity does not seem to matter as much as hitting an age and number quota while the culling the heard. The is corporate mismanagement at its worst.

If anyone is in their thirties or forties get ready for your turn if you stay working with AT&T. It is just a matter of time. The best advice for now is to save money, start a business on the side and get out of debt.

Yep. Hope they get sued some day. But they don't care they will just pay more money and go in more debt. Started to see a trend here. lol

They would rather keep Managers with fake boobs who date their techs than keep the Managers that really make a difference. It's been going on for decades. I've got 20 years invested and I'd take a buy out in a nano-second.

I would love to be a target with 2 years severance pay like Warner Media is getting . The building would empty

The vindictive management at T has no interest in rewarding you with severance or anything. The feeling is more bonus for the "executives" , we paid you already.

I'm sure they'd love to fire people with under 20, but since most the new jobs have been sent overseas the last 20 years, they are stuck firing people who are left.
