Will Frederick be included in tomorrow’s lay-off announcement?

I've heard April 18th (from more than one source, different business units) will either be a massive layoff of an entire department, or the actual site closure notice, or both. All the electrical work has been done by the building owner, conceivably to be ready for a new tenant. The new badging system and computer hardware/software is for WF compliance.
All I know is, I'm just going to keep showing up until they tell me not to. There's nothing we can do if there's a layoff or site closure any way.. it's not like we can prevent it from happening. When the axe falls, smile, take your package, and enjoy a few weeks off. There's life after WF. I promise you.
If that’s true, I’m curious why some business lines are continuing to hire in Frederick as we speak. Particular for corporate trust, compliance, risk, and finance. All the mortgage servicing postings have long dried up, outside of customer service who continues to have a large presence and we’re hiring as of last month. I’m still skeptical they are going to shut the entire site down and would imagine the pre-notice to be of the “we are closing at some point in 2020” variety vs. 60 days.
Seems more likely that other mortgage servicing teams may receive notice in the near future vs. the entire site.

Not sure why you think it’s folks that were previously laid off coming here and spreading rumors. I was laid off at the end of last summer and still come here to see what’s going on. There are a lot of people at that site who I respect and care about and hope they never find themselves on this side. Because A. It’s tough out there, in this area. There are opportunities, but those opportunities aren’t in Frederick. They are closer to DC and that commute is awful. B. The local market can’t afford to have 1200 employees looking for the same few jobs at one time. C. Many folks there have no or little college education, have been there a long time, worked their way up, and make salaries they will never ever replace. I don’t wish that kind of stuff on anybody.
People that lost their jobs in Frederick over the past year like to post that the site is closing and lay offs are coming next Thursday...... They like to make others that still have their jobs at the Frederick site feel stressed. While everyone that is still at Frederick are sorry others lost their jobs over the few years - it wasn't our fault.
But please continue to post rumors and try to get people all worked up. The site may very well close - but think about this....why would outside people and/or the café workers will get notice before actual current WF employees. so what if the site closes - people can and will find another job. Most of you need to get a life and grow the hell up.
My business unit has a large support group there that would be extremely disruptive if it had to move and train new people. It would require a lot of notice to prepare, and I'm just not seeing it right now. Maybe in the future.
I’m convinced there are some folks here simply to get a rise out of people. The Frederick office may very well close down in the near future. But it hasn’t happened yet and it won’t happen with just a 60 day notice for all 1200+ of a variety of business lines housed there.

I’d bet my 401k the building does not close in June. Even the Bloomington office that has about 1/6 the amount of employees won’t fully close until early 2020.
I’m sure if they announce closure of the site it will be announced more than 60 days in advance.
Frederick MD folks should get prepared for the building closing in June. Wake up see the writing on the wall.
