Retail Sales - The most stress I’ve ever experienced

I’ve been with T for 20yrs. I have never experienced such stress to hit TV goals. My boss is a freak and bi-polar! Anyone else feel like we are being asked to do more with less?

we are being told to flip customers when they come in for bill payments. If they say they have directv, we ask them how long, and when they say over a year...it's a flip.

Our arsm has instructed us to produce numbers or else we will be out in 60 days.

Worked COR retail for 9 years. 5 as management across various stores. There was never a plan to “fire” people, mainly because it’s way too much work to hire new people and train them. But I was done with the needless stress, from people who have never worked in the role, and the fake excitement you had to show on calls, kick offs, etc. I left and couldn’t be happier. Don’t let the Stockholm syndrome keep you there.

We love it when we in the " stores" watch techs, installers - get busted by business security. We have seen all the scenarios, and they keep getting better. From cancelling legit orders - to hitting on customers daughters - our dtv reps are some of the finest.

Directv has ruined COR. Randal knew traditional satellite subscribers would decline by the 100’s of thousands quarterly when it was purchased, yet management drones still demand that it be crammed down the throats of every customer every time. This is nothing more than a dastardly plan to fire reps or force them to quit. There’s no reason why this product could/can/will sell well in a retail store. It’s the most antiquated and expensive entertainment product out there.

Att markets directvniw as not neeeding a satellite. DOH!

Even directv does not require a satellite...we'll not in the home anyway. Satellite is in the sky. Dish on the house.

For the sake of us DTV Techs - quit telling people we have miniature dishes that fit in their kitchen window. Quit telling people that we have magnetic dishes that will stick to their metal roof. Quit telling people that everything is wireless. Quit telling people that their landlord doesn't need to know about this install.

On the other hand, we techs do get a perverse thrill out of cancelling store orders every chance we get.
