Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

News on layoffs in Des Moines? Claims/CAM/ or just in the Home Lending sector?

I've heard so many different rumors, was just wondering if anyone has heard anything. I know initially the layoffs were supposed to be announce on 2/21 and then we heard it would be delayed until March 7th and then later March 21st...and now we are hearing that there wont be any layoffs. Some people also heard the layoffs are delayed until April/July/May...etc. What a mess. Anyone else hear anything? I know EGS has taken over everyone's workload, there isn't much to do anymore and I'm not sure why they keep delaying the layoffs

Actually, those of us at the West Des Moines Campus in Claims/DAP did receive a conference call meeting invite for tomorrow morning specifically related to the reorganization process. Whether or not the layoffs will be announced is anyone's guess, but considering it's a call with the same individual who lead the first call that kicked off the layoff process, it's a decent bet some people will receive their 60 days tomorrow.

Calling other people "trolls" or telling them to calm down because you think you know better is a sure-fire way to make sure they don't share relevant information with us, and for those of us who still might lose our jobs, we want to know as soon as possible if something is coming.

Yeah these trolls with nothing better to do than claim to be in the know when they know less than nothing are beyond pathetic.

How miserable would you have to be?

I get sick of these posters saying they know this and that about layoffs. One said meeting invite for tomorrow. Those meeting invites come later as it’s always never announced beforehand when it’s going to happen. The Wells Fargo employees that are on here have their family’s livelihoods at stake so stop the hype. Regarding Des Moines/West Des Moines, we are a hub for default operations so if you are in default and your workload is almost nothing due to continuing declining inventory, then you should have the foresight to wonder what is going to happen due to this. But perhaps the default portion that is worked in other areas will be consolidated and if so it will probably be in West Des Moines. As for Frederick peeps, stop worrying with rumors as that is just what they are, rumors. The stress is not worth it. That is not saying it will not happen, back 7 years ago there was some talk about Frederick, but again it’s rumors. Calm down. As for you people keeping these rumors as the writing is on the wall, knock it off and if you do know, prove it when you post. Just remember, these are good people just trying to make a living for themselves and their family.

I would like to be laid off personally, it just s---s they are dragging everything out and not letting anyone know what's going on or providing any updates regarding the situation. everyone is an anxious mess waiting to know, there's people who have had to pay their mortgage 6 months in advance "just in case" and a lot of people are stuck just waiting. the job market may be "booming" but the jobs out there are very underpaid or there are just lots of executive positions that deem a lot of people in this department underqualified.

Please if anyone can share some information, please do it. The IT home lending department in Des Moines seems to keep shifting how we report our time for a rolls and our upper management has been very silent.

You have two choices. Sit back and hope someone tells you what’s going on with layoffs (and hoping it’s not you) or you can take charge of your career and not let WF management control your life like this. Initially, I was concerned about layoffs and wonder when/if we’d be let go. This is taxing on your health and your friends and family.

Time to take charge and find a better job! The job market is the best in 40 years and you will find plenty of opportunities. Stop screwing around with posting internally and hoping you find something inside the bank. It’s all a scam to waste your time and management can say public ally they are trying to place workers in other jobs. After 50+ internal postings with no results and landing interviews with every bank I applied to, I knew the problem was WF and not me, my resume or anything else.

Once you land that new job, you will have such a relief to be out from under the WF pressure and in a real job. Good luck!

Layoffs take time for HR to process and kick people to the curb...
