The ten U-verse managers were moles planted in the work groups to rat on techs for taking thier breaks and lunch. AT&T gave the moles walking papers.

They like to get people who are close to retirement as that does save them lots of money. 1 had 1 year to go and lost out on almost 100k of management pension. And because I am almost 61, even bigger target.
Surplussed at the beginning of March after celebrating my 18 years with AT&T. 2 years away from full retirement. Irving NOC. 7 managers got their call. No positive responses on internal applications. This one came with no warning. I'm bittersweet about this. I've been burned out for some time, but was looking forward to learning new skills. Never had a chance. Onward and upward from here hopefully.

Layoffs are targeting white employees.
FYI: I was surplused on 1/28 and decided to leave on 2/18. My severance and bonus were combined on one check, cut to me yesterday, 3/21. It's in the mail. HR gave me the net amount over the phone today when I called them. I doubt you will wait 60 days to receive your severance pay. In my case it's less than 5 weeks.

WOW - I never heard of a new hire like that getting surplused. I guess you were the token person so it doesn't look like they discriminating and just surplussing the folks with pensions to keep the lawyers happy.
" You won't see the severance check for about 60 days so spend your $ wisely." That makes getting a severance even less appealing. So 60 days you have no paycheck? then you only get a half years salary. sounds like a ripoff to me.

Notice 10 uverse managers fired guy hasn’t responded. 10 managers one garage, 15 techs per crew. So you are telling me we have a garage that holds 150 ATT vehicles plus 150 personal vehicles? Oh wait techs still need some management so there must be at least 10 managers left to combine the crews. So another 150 plus 150. So at a minimum yard holds 600 plus vehicles. Not to mention office staff and probably some ST’s and FT’s. So at a minimum we have a yard with over 300 techs that can accommodate 700 vehicles. This is why this site is a joke. If you make a post put in pertinent information. This site is like going to the yard every morning and just hearing rumors. People come here to find out information about their jobs and livelihood. Posting fake information or just being a troll is abhorrent.
What yard for the 10 Uverse managers?
To those laid off. Spend the next 60 days focused on you. Look internally and externally. Ad much as you like your current boss or tram, not your issue any more. Check unemployment to see if your severance effects the date you can file. Look to change current ATT services for better deals. You won't see the severance check for about 60 days so spend your $ wisely. Good luck.
GO&S got hit today with 25% across the board from what we're told. Not sure what these guys are thinking. Somehow I think Senior Leadership has no idea what they're doing in GO&S because how could you OK such a large cut when things area already so bad. And they did this in provisioning too! Our customers already have huge issues with the way we order, provision and deliver services and now we're taking people OUT of that area? I don't get it. In my view, if you work to deliver services faster and more reliably than your competition, you'll grow revenue. Cutting people in those areas and expecting the left overs (who are already over taxed with so much work) to pick up the pieces and continue growing this org will not work. Mark my words. The ones that are left will start to jump ship soon too and then you might as well torch the place as you'll have no one left. Bye Bye revenue to pay down leadership's spending spree on TW and DirecTV.
Let go 2/12. I have to say there is a wonderful peace having AT&T in my rear view mirror and not in my headlights any longer. I will likely take a paycut as I am I rural area but it doesn't matter how big your check is if you are miserable. Good luck to all.

that sux - uverse is a decent product. what are they doing with digital life. talk about a useless product.
yeah it is ok if senior management breaks the code of business conduct and lie to their employees but don't the employees better not break it.
My small team under GO&S just lost two Orders Specialists. We're already doing double normal workload thanks to previous surplus. Sorry for all that are notified today. Hopefully better opportunities are in your futures!

10 Uverse managers in one yard?!? Downsizing was overdue. Hire techs who do the actua work to replace them.
2 people in IL in the Service Manager group were cut out of 12. Customers going overseas.
