Low morale & distrust of Marvin's ultimate goals for Lowe's at my store. I've seen pretty much all the other issues others have complained abt so far. Part-timer here, and the knowledgeable one everyone turns to in my area here, but still don't feel any of us are safe, position-wise. People at our store think he wants to eliminate Lowe's and either run back to HD bragging abt destroying their largest competition, then trying for their CEO position; &/or merge the two, after destroying Lowe's. I was told this past weekend delivery drivers have been fired (like so many other hard-working people) due to the changes regarding Appliances. Stupid, STUPID move, dropping the IN-STORE supply of appliances, because when someone discovers their fridge has been down the past 4-5 hrs, & they filled it up just 2 days earlier, NEXT DAY delivery will NOT do!! They are calculating the hrs the fridge has been down, and how FAST they can get one HOME & get the food transferred before it ROTS. They'll go somewhere ELSE for a fridge, NO DOUBT! I don't know Appliances very well, but guess how desperate those people are to get a fridge that day/night when it DOES happen?? I've seen it myself. id–tic. And our FSA, she knew the quirks of our building, e.g. why & where the fuses that trip during the holidays when so many inflatables are plugged in, & what to do abt them–she ordered supplies/parts, did many repairs herself, & yet, was barely hanging on financially, so losing her job was prob'ly DEVASTATING (already relied on help from her church for food, so her earnings could pay for other expenses). Did Marvin think abt THAT? Jerk! And the stupid hand-"painted " signs that fade w/in abt 2 weeks? Noticed the fading TWO weeks after the first signs went up, and the signs already ripping from their wood pieces. WASTE of TIME ($)! And the stupid black plastic signs in Garden, that were done away with 5 yrs ago? Obviously, "been there, done that!!" And we're hearing that in the "test" stores abt getting rid of the Pickup Desk (which took the company money to set up & I don't even think it's been a yr since that was done in our store) that they claim the customers didn't like the desk, but OTHER sources say customers are actually unhappy abt getting rid of the desk, because now it'll be BACK to waiting in long lines @ Cusomer Service to pick their orders up. Why, after Marvin did NOTHING to really save JC Penney, was he hired to take over Lowe's? I remember asking myself why that was the case from the beginning. Too bad my gut instinct that that was a stupid idea has apparently proven to be right. If your dept or job title is anything even somewhat specific or specialized, your head's prob'ly on the chopping block. We've seen FSAs, Assemblers, Drivers, Appliances, Managers, all experience chopping, w/ rumors of others possibly facing elimination. I guess they want to eliminate the company, when customers leave to shop elsewhere, for fridges, customer service, etc. Marvin is digging the grave for this company.
