Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

T cuts the head off the snake and lets the rest of it to die. Once your manager is gone, it's up to those left to determine your value to T. Always felt that was so iffy as our team went through endless reorgs.

Our Area Mgr had a saying "As long as I have a job, you guys are safe" He was transferred out with no back fill. 30 days later, our entire group got the axe. Don't laugh so hard when your Mgr gets surplussed.

I wouldn’t wish a job loss an anybody. My manager didnot select me for surplus. Another manager (SWB side) who needed a job and happened to go thru a divorce convinced HR and level up to select me due to age and service. This I know so hope you get to keep your job and don’t blame your boss.

Easier to defeat an enemy when they are divided from fighting amongst themselves.

I don't particularly like this company's management. That being said however, I don't take pleasure in seeing anyone lose their livelihood. Losing a job is a major traumatic event for most people and their families.

But I do make an exception for the Rat, Stankey, and the other Johns. Those individuals should have been removed from this company a long time ago.

I hope if I am laid off tomorrow I don't find joy in other people's misfortune. Sad way to live ...good luck to everyone tomorrow.

You can be assured that nobody letting techs go is empowered to do so without direction and pressure from far above. VP to SVP or better. If you think any of those will be let go tomorrow, you are mistaken. Your attitude stinks. It hurts to get laid off and it hurts to lay off. To think otherwise is ridiculous. I'm certain there are a few bad apples on a power trip who may enjoy it.

So have a heart for your fellow American Worker. A loss of any job is a loss for the American worker.
