@YWP23Qn-1dyr,dude I am a law and order conservative. I believe in strong laws, oppose legalizing pot, support the death penalty, you name it. however, prosecutors and cops do make mistakes and do break the law to convict innocent people especially some who don't have money to pay for excellent legal help. while I believe most people in prison did do the deed they were convicted of, we cannot paint all cons with the same broad brush. We all need second chances. Be thankful you have not been convicted of a crime and want a second chance. some ex cons deserve a second chance. I would rather an ex con get a decent job and rejoin society as a tax paying citizen than no job and feel they have to continue committing crime to make ends meet. Have some compassion, we all make mistakes.
People that end up in prison usually have been f---ing up for a long time, they just finally got caught.
This article/meeting happened right after the company just laid off thousands of tenured employees.
Total slap in the face to the former-employees that just got kicked to the curb and are now receiving unemployment which barely pays any expenses and have to look for another job after decades of loyal service to AT&T! GFY!!!
Are u kidding me? Trying to equate hiring Americans in general to hiring ex-Cons......This is the craziest s**t I have ever heard of.....I heard of someone not getting hired because they had bad credit and low credit scores but hiring ex-cons.....They even d--g test people before hiring them.....People don't go to jail for nothing......Granted some people can change but the majority do not....Unfortunately, they do not identify the severity of the offenses...…Also, I don't really care about the boo hoo for the person who drank too much and drove....A drunk driver k--led my 10 year old brother and that man made a decision to get behind the wheel and drive after drinking in the afternoon.
OP, you really are a POS. give thanks every day that you have not had the misfortune to be incarcerated for screwing up. Many of us are one stupid decision away from incarceration. don't think it can happen to you? do you drink? ever drive after drinking? SMH
I only agree with this if no one else is applying for these jobs more qualified than these people being released from jail. Why would someone get an advantage because they have been in jail? if they don’t have an email address, nor know how to create one, why should be employing them over candidates who know how to do those things?
Everyone deserves a second chance. They've paid their debt to society. If they're not given a second chance their only alternative will be back to a life of crime.
The cable news layoffs were a buyout offer I believe. The article is on drudge
IF the company actually follows through in this, it'd be a good thing. Just because someone made a mistake doesn't mean they should suffer for it indefinitely.
Funny to see bad people complain about "bad people" being given a 2nd chance.
I'm sorry but this has got to be a joke... I'm hoping it's the cafeteria or maintenance. & not customer relationship roles. The article needs to be more specific. I'm not interested in working with p----hile & thieves, let alone murders & d--g addicts. We are supposed to feel safe in the workplace... Sounds like a feeble attempt to get positive attention. Why not open a raffle like free service for life for the next 10,000 new customers.. I would think you can quickly make 10,000 people happy & save billions in line loss from reckless disruntal employees.
CNN should be shuttered. They are a disaster. Given other things I see around ATT rewarding incompetence I am not surprised that the CEO of CNN has not been fired. CNN’s ratings are in the basement and instead of getting rid of the entire news management and starting over they seem to be doubling down starting with promising that horrible CEO. Go figure.
So, you complain when they outsource jobs to India, and then complain when they try and hire Americans? Take your morning pill! Heard about some layoffs at the cable news network. Can anyone confirm?
