I am NOT naming names.
I am just saying that ATO is one giant cesspool. I have never seen such callousness at the AVP level. And I have worked in many different silos in this company. ATO is by far the worst. These AVPs almost seem GLEEFUL when they cut people. The arrogance is astounding. I have never encountered such unprofessionalism in all my years at this company and I am an OLD MAN. Lol

ATO Layer 4 and above is a lost cause - nepotism and politics have let no true leadership and target only bonus goals.
Level 3 Directors losing influence each round of layoffs if they dare speak up. Play the game and move on, paychecks still coming, good followers go far, do not question or your not on board with the team and your next to go, planned reorgs to move out the squesaky wheels

yep nuff said. when I worked there and this was the sort straw that broke the camels back and made me leave. one group needed someone with my skills I had and asked that I look at some problem they were having. we were all under the same vp but my mo--n manager told me not to help them because it came out of different money buckets.
that was pretty much it I really started looking after that left. the place is a cesspool and it deserves what it has coming to it. you can't fix stupid. work for a much smarter company now. I hear from friends almost every other month they are on a surplus list but that manager.

Very thick layer of management level 2 and above who do not have a clue on who and what they are managing. If they want to trim the fat, they better start up there. The most work are being done by people below them yet we get all the trimming. The use of "being agile and innovative" are way too redundant.
I hope at&t eventually weeds out you toxic whiners who bring negativity to the workplace.
ATO is not a silo. It is a very large business in its own right. It is the collection of a lot of the businesses we grew up with. In fact in some ways it is the old AT&T that unfortunately has a lot of the silos that are in decline. For all intents and purposes Donovan is running what anyone who has more than 15 years of service started in for the most part. Per the last earnings report it looks like we are on our way to another million line loss in Legacy voice, they are turning down Uverse, a lot of the massive fiber buildout is coming to a end. They are retrofitting the cell sites with 5G capabilities before we even have that service turned up on the wireless side. RS mentioned that in limited 5G trials there are some businesses that are going completely wireless. First Net has the potential to cause wireless substitution in a lot of our rural areas. Scary times if all of the pieces come together.
I've never seen that. What I DO see is a layer at Level 3 & 4 that is so clueless they don't even understand what the teams they "lead" do for the company.
