What org in ATO? I’ve heard very different things On The telecommuting. Seems like it is being inconsistent
over 360 prem tech in california
@YQACjIX-hrm, I am in Atlanta and no one is allowed to telecommute here anymore. The offices are filled with people to a point that they are sitting on floors. I have a very long commute, but less than 50 miles, so I am not going anywhere but to face the traffic everyday. Not complaining. It is what it is.
@YQACjIX-tad In ATO and never got such a notice. I’ve been hearing that tons from other people, but under my VP, telecommuting has never been discouraged and new jobs are still being set up at FOW.
@YQACjIX-tad That’s the smart way to downsize. AT&T has always used relocation as a means to make people quit. The trick is to find a way to reduce its impact ie Rent a place with co-workers you can stand, live out of your vehicle, etc.
I dont think they're going to lay off in May (at least in my org (ATO). We've just been given a notice starting 5/6 that we can no longer telecommute and we are to collaborate 5x a week. Im in ATO. We're not even full time telecommuters, we're just flex works that still had to come in 2x a week. So no, they are going to wait, at least in my org to have all the people quit then lay off the rest in JUNE. I got coworkers who live 60 miles 1 way, hes 5yrs to being eligible to retire, so he'll quit for sure... which what AT&T wants and more of that example.
nobody knows jack squat on this site. go find a fortune teller or something.
who cares, ...next
Get ready..its going to get ugly next few days.
The only number you need to know is your seniority position. If you’re management I hope you got your finances in order and payed off/down your debts.
