Out VP told us the SVP we are under committed to outsourcing 500 jobs to Mexico over the next year and we will hear of letter coming out for voluntary layoffs in about 2 weeks. Target is to have them off the books early July.

Letters of interest go out Friday May 10 for the 1st voluntary wave. Organizations are in Finance under Fete. Off payroll in 30 days one accepted.

If this is the same offer from (was it last year or the year before) you are better off waiting to get laid off. With the lay off you also get unemployment. Last year it was the standard severance. now, if they sweeten the pot and add to it like Verizon did, I will take it.

Our AVP told us today and it was confidential but be prepared for questions when the email notifying employees of the voluntary comes out. They will have 3 weeks to accept but no word on if it is different than standard severance
