AT&T recently announced the closure of call centers in Indianapolis, Ind., Kalamazoo, Mich., Appleton, Wis., Syracuse, N.Y, and Meriden, Conn. In March, AT&T announced a major restructuring in its WarnerMedia unit which is expected to result in continuous and significant layoffs for years to come.
AT&T’s response to concerns about layoffs with boasts about hiring have been met with skepticism, since hiring to address turnover is not the same as job creation.

Layoff news just boosts the stock price. Wall Street sees cost cutting. And who doesn't think T doesn't have people that need cutting?

The hiring was in fiber deployment. I think for the construction, they use contractors. Whatever AT&T's boasts were, it certainly didn't mean a reversal of the 20-20 plan. I think some people are playing stupid in saying that it did mean a reversal of 2020.

Hiring where? India, Slovakia,Czech. Why don’t we take a look at that? They lay-off us eorkers, hire overseas and claim they are creating jobs and reporting incorrectly. Let’s get this out in the media. Local papers, social media, whatever means available.
