Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

A good view on morale

There is no progression or chance for advancement in the company these days for the workers unless you are part of the club of friends and exec level Management.....Folks are just trying to keep a job these days...hence why morale is at an all time low....and it is really wearing on those of us who are trying and give 100% plus. Employees in general just don't give a c**p lately. It is evident daily and hard to get anything done these days as folks are not responsive and are not doing their jobs to the best of their ability......Others appear stressed out and are acting inappropriately by being abrupt to others and yelling on calls etc...I had a Customer calling me as she was given my phone number as a Billing Collections Rep who was going to help her?? I have nothing at all to do with billing nor do I have any contacts in that area. I called all over the Company for days to find someone to help her and finally was given names and an email....... I reached out to the Contacts given and gave them the Customer's info for a call back.....Well over a week later the same lady, the Customer, called me again looking for help as no one ever responded to her and she said neither did the Sales Rep.. Again, I reached out to everyone and asked them to please please get back to the Customer... .I surely hope someone responded to the Customer....very unfortunate.

As sad as this is, i heard a hundred stories like the one posted by @YM2n5aD-1veq . Unfortunately this has become our reality/

This company has not cared about the customer for quite some time. I reckon that started when the Texas crew took over.

If people don't like all the hurdles helping the customers, and are only concerned about how caring the upper management is, maybe they should consider some layoffs to get people that are more aligned with the company. I bet if they hire people overseas, they would just do the job and not care what management was thinking. Infact, the more employee morale and productivity goes down, outsourcing is looking better and better for them.

"We are not here to manage their company rather we are here to adhere to their marching orders including if dictated to turn a screwdriver backwards for 8 hours."

I get that sentiment. But it is getting increasingly difficult for customer facing employees to care about the customer when obviously upper management does not. They put so many hurdles before us that we must overcome before we can actually do the real work of solving customer issues. It is a real challenge at times.

Mext time use SER process

Ah, yep! If you are an employee, and you are not aware of that process, then you probably don’t know much of anything, and hopefully you will be let go soon

The Company doesn't care how hard or passionate you work. They pay you to follow their instructions for 8 hours a day. Don't follow their instructions and try to apply your better "work around" and you will become quickly frustrated. We are not here to manage their company rather we are here to adhere to their marching orders including if dictated to turn a screwdriver backwards for 8 hours. Try to deviate from their orders and one will quickly become a very frustrated employee.

Before I was surplussed/retired I used the Service Escalation Program a few times and did get good response for the frustrated customer. I hope that avenue still works.

Next time, use the SER process and let the Office of the President handle. You can find the link on The Insider.
