I know our engineers have never been anything to brag about but, lately it’s like some of them can’t even write out a cable count on the print. Not typos but, down right wrong and this s..t is put out there on job prints for the techs to straighten out.

The future is contractors to design it, contractors to build it, eventually contractors to splice it and turn it up. Contract with the low bidder, greatly reduce overhead slashing jobs and ruining families, no liability, no giving a damn, reward executives with multimillion dollar bonuses and raise consumer prices. The ‘AT&T’ business model!
Gone are the days when a promotion was just that. A top tech given a management position because he excelled as a tech. Geez. That was a long time ago.

I have been noticing some poor engineering of circuits as well. So poor that they would never work if implemented as represented in the documentation. Yes, this lowly overpaid slacker technician has had to re-engineer circuits so that they actually work.

AT&T is Relying on companies like Tesinc.inc for Engineering services, how much a Telecom engineer makes at Tesinc? about 30k a year, WOW, welcome to the new world of outsourcing and contracting the AT&T way, LOL
contractors are the answer. wouldn't be surprised if it off shore.
Actually, most of it is hired out to contractors because of the workload after the surpluses.
In Illinois it’s a management job. Some have outside experience, but some don’t. It helps to know what you’re looking at. In the past many were old cable splicers or cable repair techs that understood things a bit better. Now they will put any old flunky in there.
