Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

No one is safe

The Halliburton massive lay off cycle seems to come around every 2 - 3 years now and no one is safe. These pst three months I’ve heard about 3 month admin employees to 25+ year VPs getting escorted out the building. I myself was laid off after 18 years during the 2016 downturn. My advice to all those who remain

Be nice to people, suppliers, vendors, customers, employees. You never know when you might be the one asking them for a job.

There is a level of arrogance with Halliburton supervisors and managers. You’re not safe so be nice to people.

It’s a very political place to work, they got rid of the Lesar regime and now Miller is putting in his people. So if you thought you New someone in management better look again.

Halliburton is garbage. I was a K level manager- best decision ever was to quit (2017). The only people who still work for hal in mgmt are only there because they cannot get a job anywhere else. Its basically walmart of the oil field- un employable. They are arrogant for a reason, its all fake. They KNOW they cannot make it anywhere else when the fall asleep at night. They money is way better at other companies....that says it all.

Hey if they didn’t get you today you’re safe until tomorrow. On a sad note it’s supposed to continue until Friday so good luck everyone!

C’mon .... think people! Don’t be sheep.

Halliburton has the money to keep buying replacements to keep the facade of the ship floating for now but you'll know when entire PSL's start getting cut off then we'll really see that they indeed have cut too deep. Where I'm at it seems pretty grim considering how many in management have jumped ship already. I'm told it was voluntary resignations or early retirements and obviously that isn't completely true but obviously people see the writing on the wall already as far as the future here goes.

If it was industry wide I would understand but it seems everyone else is busy, even though the entire oilfield is much slimmer post 2015, it's just us that seem like we're dying off. I honestly am starting to get sour at all the worrying about small expenses when millions are being dropped on these online systems that no one uses.

Well, the original poster isn't wrong. The arrogance of the management group is breathtaking.

I do wonder if Halliburton has finally reached the point where they have cut too deep. I know the last two years the morale has been absolutely miserable. It's been about 3 years of consecutive layoffs and the company feels like a sinking ship.
