It’s no secret that as Night Shift hours change, many lives will be impacted—those of the associates, their children, and their loved ones. There are associates that have purposely chosen to work 9:00pm-6:30am so that they can care for their family, be it children or aging parents or others, while another in the house works a day shift schedule. Or maybe it’s the associate who also works another job as well, a day shift job somewhere. For these associates, it’s all in place and works well for their families. So NOW what do they do? The change in the Night Shift hours will certainly rock their world! It’s sad...

Weak sauce man, again, excuses excuses excuses. Face it, you don’t want to learn how to “work the Wire” so you can say it’s the IT departments fault I can’t find Career Preference. Get a head start on your unemployment career path and go to the Unemployment Office and submit a resume or find a phone number of a facility near you that has overnight positions. Since everyone here is quitting for greener pastures elsewhere, I’m sure you could find a 3rd shift job at one of many Walmart’s near you. Again, you have known about this for months, yet you could not take an hour out of your busy schedule to see what the company has to offer for you and your “family dynamic”. I hear no desperation in these stories of only being able to stock shelves at Sam’s Club between 10pm and 6am (and I gotta have my 2 days off in a row with a set schedule always). What I hear is a bunch of excuses and whoa is me, they are so mean.....
Take the time you spend on here whining about what is going to happen, and go learn how to look for positions available in the company on the Wire.
Well let's see... They eliminate everyone from receiving to fresh market managers, and lastly, they decide to get rid of 3rd shift. Where pray-tell, given that we're not really hiring, and that other eliminated positions had first dibs, are all these jobs at the DC and other locations? I haven't seen anything on the wire about open positions. I would look at the Career Preference Dashboard if I had a minute to fiddle around with the new wire and figure out where it is. There isn't really a lot of open positions left.
So hey! if you have open open positions at your club, dc, or supercenter how about posting that store number so people can find these jobs sooner!
Take a survey, at least half the people are single/divorced/antisocial misfits. This move has been known for months, yet hardly anyone has requested a transfer to a 24 hour Wal-Mart or a distribution center. It’s convenient to blame others for your situations in life, and sadly, what I hear most is “will we get a severance package?” Most are hanging on for a payout, those that stay will sabotage the new system just so they can say “I told you it wouldn’t work!. SMH
Why has he his not happened yet ? They’ve been talking about this for 6 months ... enough already..... just do it ! What are they waiting for ?
Now, they look for another job.
