Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Will we ever have a good company culture again?

My guess is no. It takes only a second to destroy what was built for years , if not decades. For me it’s not just a question anymore of whether I get to stay at T or get cut. An equal punishment for me at this point will be staying at a company with such a destroyed culture and with absolutely no values that it follows. Will we ever get to see T wit a positive and productive company culture?

Scary part is that a lot of Mgmt compensation is being tied to paying down the debt this year.

1cae...Cradle to grave, huh? You might ask your doctor to adjust your meds.

First, AT&T gave nothing away, we work hard for our paychecks. Any one who has ever worked at a large corporation knows It is the execs in the C-level bubble who are the slackers.

Second, we owe AT&T nothing. I say treat the company the same way it treats you.

Third, your comments display so much ignorance about the business world that it is obvious you are just trolling for a response. I strongly suspect you have never worked at AT&T, your comments are much too scattered and suggest an inability to focus on productive work.

You guys are so jaded, because ATT won't babysit you, from cradle to grave. ATT provided you a paycheck for WAY too long. You have no idea how the real world works. ATT owes you NOTHING! You should have been fired a LONG time ago. But, management has never been allowed to fire anyone. Managers have never been allowed to actually manage. they are simply glorified babysitters. You are now the problem. You are the folks that are getting cut. Now you are going to get a HUGE dose of reality...there are very few companies out there, that simply give you a paycheck every month. Employees are required to have skills, and actually do something, as opposed to sitting there and rotting in-place. I really don't feel sorry for you. The writing has been on the wall for years. Heck, ATT has even tried to pay you, in order for you to leave...but, you just won't leave!

The culture will be better once all the toxic entitled whiners leave the company.

No. It is the culture of short-term profits ahead of everything. It is a cancer eating away at our entire country.

at&t seems to be focused on legal and binding issues more than providing great services, and taking care of the customer. Most of my friends complain about billing issues, and then not being able to resolve those issues. Specific billing issues like subscribing to a promotional offer at a specific price for two years and then receiving a bill for nearly double the price. Then the automation when they try to contact customer service puts the caller in a loop and never seems to connect you to a customer care associate who can help you. I left at&t many years ago for some of my services for this very same reason, and I find my friends and their friends are leaving at&t as soon as they can and never looking back.

It seems like at&t contracts state that they will pay for arbitration and the customer can never file a law suit or begin a class action against the company.

The truth is that at&t really does have great products and services that every customer will enjoy. In my humble opinion, at&t lost the one single cornerstone of success.

TRUST

It's very hard to have a focused and positive company culture when there's a liar and value thief in the Chairman's seat.

The Company will never be trusted to have loyalty to its greatest assets, its employees. The Company stopped valuing its Rank and File Union Members since the 70’s. Stopped respecting its L2 & L1 Managers when they stopped compensating them during year end performance reviews. Yet raising the expectations for loyalty. The Company expects all employees “to do the right thing.” To give great customer service. Yet it breaks promises and short changes financially at every opportunity. AT&T is now just a Joe Job where employees get what they can but will jump ship at first opportunity. Just like Target, Old Navy & Home Depot. Costco treats its employees better.

We haven’t had a any sort of culture since about 2002. This post is almost 20 years too late.

Yeah I have not met one At&t employee who likes to work here anymore. Morale is down everywhere. Company feels doomed.

not with the current upper management. Unfortunately those people never see themselves as the source of any problem.

I see the problem as more than caused by layoffs. It s a giant morale problem everywhere.
