Mr. OP: When your internet, TV service, Home Security system or all of the above goes down, you will have to depend on one of us "assets" to repair it. Or you can wait for a robot to be dispatched.
People are more than assets, they are human beings with hopes and dreams, they raise families, pay taxes and contribute to society.
