I would think a combination of all mentioned here as well as years of service and salary......The colleagues I know (all management) who were impacted were WFH (not at a collaboration zone) and had 25-30 plus years of service others were at a collaboration zone with 30 plus yrs of service and higher salary.....6 in total in 2018-2019
A drone will soon be hovering over each employee. Yikes!
I would imagine that Big Data is the elephant in the room or will be in the future. If you use any company resources it can be monitored. From GPS on company vehicles, to keystrokes, to system access, telephone calls, to what you did while you were in a system. To take it a step further, who leaves their personal smart phone in their desk when they leave for breaks, lunches or even going to the bathroom. I know that Q is being looked at hard. Issue is there is so much info that it is physically impossible to do anything other than spot checks which occasionally turn up issues for deeper dives. Think about a world in which Big Data is monitoring everything with a AI component that knows what to look for. Kind of like your supervisor being able to sit with you all day everyday. Or worse, your entire line of management.
VPN reports have been sent to managers for years. Mostly contain percent of time during business day spent on VPN. Some may be looking at badge swipes but that's pretty petty. How do you count everyone when 2 or 3 go thru the door on single swipe. As long as your manager is happy with your production it doen't matter.
starting in 2020, microchip implant
Ask your manager...
I know for a fact they are monitoring badge swipes. Got that directly from someone pulling those reports. I would guess VPN activity is also being monitored.
Imo, I’m working more hours than I ever have and more than I’m supposed to. If I get cut because I wfh a couple days to accommodate the meetings that are late, so be it. They can have this sh--ty job.
IDeskOp was on my Windows 7 laptop but I no longer have it on Windows 10. Do any windows 10 folks have it on theirs?
I don't live in a engagement (FKA Collaboration) zone state nor have a satellite or hub in the state. I was told to not bother going into the office, they aren't counting swipes outside the zones and hubs. Not worried about the VPN reports. So close to retiring.
Regarding monitoring, what I've heard, but is not consistent within ATO
Badge swipes - depends on what location you are in as I am told some don't even register them.
VPN - mystery. Some say stay off it from 6am-6pm. People still are allowed WTH. Some are terrified to WFH.
iDesk - tracks every URL you visit, your mouse activity, what time you log on & off.
The main problem is no one will tell the truth about "monitoring" and the WFH/VPN issue is not consistent within organizations.
So, it's a c-ap shoot.
If you have to ask that question you are probably on a ranked list. The rankings on that list are attitude, team player, contribution, education, productivity. Score yourself and then your team members. Where do you rank?
Not only how they track you but what are the rules for the next layoff. They like to keep us guessing
Everything is tracked, but it doesn't matter. Formula is your Wages + Benefits. High card loses.
Did you get a "Murray" webcam cover? Did you install it? Did you even notice that you can see directly through it from the back?
Both.
The formula?
Ask McPop-n-Fresh...oh wait he'll tell you to "talk" with your supervisor.
Just like Feutsch
and Rice
Who knows what the formula is. The next list of surplus has probably already been made.
